We all went through it; the skinny jeans, the rubber bracelets, the excessive bottom lid eyeliner, and the awful side bangs. Everyone went through their own "Emo Phase" at one point or another -- thankfully most of us grew out of it once we made it to high school. But once an emo, always an emo, and these songs are here to prove it. So break out your neon colored skinny jeans and tease your hair -- it's time to relieve your Seventh Grade Emo Phase!

1. My Chemical Romance.

Song: I'm Not Okay (I Promise)

MCR is the epitome of angsty emo-rock that we all jammed to at one point or another.

2. Taking Back Sunday.

Song: Make Damn Sure

This New Jersey based band is still touring today, and they're just as angsty as ever.

3. Brand New.

Song: Mixtape

Brand New is a musical gem, with all sorts of sounds and styles. One thing always holds true to their music, though, and that's angst.

4. Secondhand Serenade.

Song: Fall For You

Every girl in middle school listened to this song while thinking about their crush, and if you say you didn't, you're lying.

5. Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

Song: Face Down

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus was an emo one hit wonder, but everyone found themselves screaming along to this heavy song about domestic violence at one point or another.

6. Bright Eyes.

Song: First Day of My Life

This song was released eleven years ago, in 2005. It still makes me cry like a baby every time I listen to it. With lyrics like, "This is the first day of my life; I'm glad I didn't die before I met you" how can you not get a little teary-eyed?

7. Blink 182.

Song: Adam's Song

Blink is famous for their crude humor and their California-surfer accents, but they could get pretty deep. "Adam's Song" is definitely one of their heaviest tunes.

8. Augustana.

Song: Boston

Augustana had a few solid songs in my opinion, but "Boston" was their biggest hit without a doubt. An anthem about running away from your past and starting new in a big city? Yes please!

9. Motion City Soundtrack.

Song: Everything is Alright

Motion City Soundtrack is one of those hidden gems you stumble upon on Youtube and then you're really glad you did. Their sound is just cheerful enough to make you want to dance, but their lyrics are just heavy enough to make you want to wear all black while you do it.

10. All American Rejects.

Song: Move Along

Tyson Ritter's face says it all. Angst galore.

11. Cute Is What We Aim For.

Song: The Curse of Curves

When this song came on MusicChoice (#TBT) for the first time I fell in love. And just look at that hair!

12. The Academy Is....

Song: About a Girl

This was another MusicChoice gem, and another one-hit-wonder. I've never met anyone who could name two songs from The Academy Is..., but "About a Girl" will always have a special place in our hearts.

13. Thursday.

Song: Understanding in a Car Crash

Thursday is another New Jersey-based band, and I'm sure you can guess how fun and upbeat they are from their famous song title.

14. Hawthorne Heights.

Song: Ohio is for Lovers

Hawthorne Heights was another must-have on your iPod Nano. "Ohio is for Lovers" was every emo kid's anthem back in the day.

15. The Wonder Years.

Song: I Don't Like Who I Was Then

The Wonder Years are, in my opinion, one of the most famous bridges from emo-rock to pop-punk. They're still a huge part of the music community, doing their part to keep the emo sound of the early 2000's alive.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
