15 Bad Decisions You've Made In College

Did you really have fun if you didn't regret it the next day?

Oh, college. The time of finding yourself and figuring out who you want to be. While you're on your journey of realization it is inevitable that you are going to make a slew of extremely questionable decisions along the way. Here's a few that may sound rather familiar and incredibly close:

1. That extra drink (or four)

It seemed like a realllllly good idea at the time. You've had a long week, of course you deserve a reward. But when we're in charge of what our rewards consist of, we tend to get a little carried away. Good luck trying to explain how much you needed a night out to your major migraine tomorrow morning.

2. Going home with him

You promised yourself you wouldn't do it. Oh gosh, what was his name? Jerry? Steven? He was cute when you went to bed last night, but now that the light is up and your vision is clear, he is less of a ten then you had originally believed. Also, you've just realized that he's in one of your classes, so now your chances of awkwardly running into him have just doubled.

3. NOT going home with him

Sure, you just met him and not going home with him was probably the right thing to do. But now that you're laying in your bed alone and you have time to think about your actions, you can't help but wanting to punch your sense of responsibility in the face.

4. Waiting until the last moment to do that assignment

The mistake we've all made far too many times. Whether it's because you thought it would be way less complicated that it actually was or you just plain didn't want to do it, nothing says "college" quite like staying up all night, and skipping your first class in the morning, so you can finish your assignment that is due in 30 minutes.

5. Being too involved

Being involved on campus is extremely important and highly recommended (also looks great on a job application). However, it is way too easy to become too involved on campus. So many clubs and activities seem like a really good idea until all of a sudden you don't have enough time in the day to actually complete what you have to do. And you never realize you're trapped until its too late.

6. Eight AM's

Sometimes we can't control it. Sometimes they're not our fault. Sometimes we think it would be a great idea to start early and get all of our classes done by 1:00, that way we can do whatever we want for the rest of the day, but the joke's on us because we have absolutely no energy by the time we're done to actually complete anything.

7. Thinking you could actually live with her

Being able to choose your roommate is a beautiful thing. Yet, too many people make the silly mistake of thinking that their best friend, whom they love so much, will actually be a good living partner. Sometimes it works out great, and sometimes it isn't until after she's officially moved in that you remember she's an angry drunk and likes to leave her toe nails all over the living room carpet. Yikes.

8. Not rationing your money

It seems to just goes so fast without even having to spend anything. Even if you don't buy things that are expensive, $6 here or there really adds up after a while. And once you miraculously get money again, its gone just as quickly as you got it. Curse you 5 for $27 deal.

9. Napping

In college, a nap can either make or break you. Sometimes taking a nap is the only thing keeping you alive for the rest of the day. Other times it makes you even more tired that you wish you never laid down in the first place. To nap, or not to nap. That is the question.

10. Thinking that the horrible bar, that has always been horrible, will be different this time

This place sucks. You know it sucks. It's always sucked. But for some ungodly reason your friends love going and you find yourself there every Friday night asking yourself how you let yourself get here. Again.

11. Tequila Tuesday

It's the alliteration that always gets us. It's so catchy and fun, but oh so deadly. Sure, on Tuesday this seemed like a great idea, then "Why Did I Do That" Wednesday comes around you're the most miserable you've ever been. You start to replay your actions in your head over and over and swear that you'll never drink again... Until Fireball Friday.

12. Not bringing a jacket

The mistake every girl has made more times than they want to admit. Your outfit is cute and a jacket just does not match, no matter how hard you try. There's nothing like running to the bar in the winter with no coat on because you know its gonna be hotter than Hades inside. Those few minutes of actual hypothermia should be fine.

13. Scheduling anything before noon

Why do you keep doing this to yourself? You were the one that set up the meeting. You were the one who got to decide the time. Why did you think that it was necessary to get together at 9:30 am to discuss things that are of no relevance to anyone at that ungodly hour?!

14. Believing that you actually understood the material that's gonna be on the test

It's always for those classes that you don't really understand what's going on but you also don't really care to know what's going on. You believe that because you heard it in class you're pretty sure what's going to happen on this test and don't need to study. Lol, yeah right.

15. Thinking that, because you're an adult, you can stay up as long as you want to

College is that crazy time where you're an adult, but also a small baby child. You can stay out as long as you want because no one is telling you to go to bed, but also can't function on minimal sleep the next day. And sure, all the cool stuff starts after 11:00, however once tomorrow rolls around and you're falling asleep while you're professor is talking directly to you, you may have different ideas about how cool that stuff really is.

They say these are the best four years of your life. What would they be if you didn't make a couple dozen mistakes? Messing up is a major part of growing up. And besides, crazy mistakes make for the best Instagram photos.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
