14 Ways To Make The Most Of Your Spring Break

So much we can do, such little time!

Spring Break is that week to do all the things you never or hardly have time to do during the semester. There are so many possibilities but I've pinpointed 14 ways to make the most of your Spring Break!

1. Hangout with friends.

There’s nothing better than catching up with your friends you haven’t seen in months to remind you how much you’ve missed them! Car dates are the best (you literally park your car, sit in it, and talk for hours. It’s a thing, try it)

2. Go see a movie.

Not going to lie, I’m on the 50 Shades plane ride and I’m not getting off!

3. Read a book.

From personal experience, it’s nice to be able to read something that has nothing to do with the human body or the nursing process

4. Go to the beach or skiing.

This is that weird in-between time where you could be in shorts one day and a parka the next. So, if your bank account allows it, take a trip up north or down south and enjoy everything that comes with it!

5. Take a road trip.

Unlike a specific destination like the beach or skiing, taking a road trip allows you the freedom to go anywhere and end up in places you didn’t even plan to be. Let your car roll with the wind.

6. Have a lounge day.

Ahh, a lounge day…sounds like a little piece of heaven to me! A day dedicated to sleeping, movies, pajamas, or just plain nothing. You can personalize it to whatever you want like it’s a Sweet Frog frozen yogurt!

7. Have a bonfire.

This one is a personal favorite. Every time I come home my dad tells me he’s been building it up for me so I can have a bon fire whenever I want. The boys grilling and keeping the fire going, all your close friends sitting around laughing and catching up, smores; perfect night for me!

8. Go fishing.

If you’re like me, you’re like taking a kindergartener fishing. My favorite part of fishing is the casting and reeling back in, so my ideal fishing afternoon is a stocked pond where you can always catch something.

9. Go shopping.

Spring break means summer is right around the corner and you know what that means, time to build your summer wardrobe!

10. Spring cleaning

This week would be the perfect time to deep clean your house, clean out your closet, vacuum out your car. Basically any cleaning you always say you never have any time to do

11. Cook yourself a good meal.

Ohhh yes! Don’t get me wrong, I cook myself meals but during the semester, they’re usually the same meal over and over due to the time crunch I'm always on

12. Go to your favorite restaurant.

Whenever I come home I always suggest my family goes to my favorite restaurant called Lulu Bird's. It's the kind of restuarant you can eat foods you don't like but still love the meal. Although, I always get the same meal because it's just that good! (I’d go on my own but it’s a little on the pricey side

13. Have family quality time.

Spring break is a great time to catch up with friends you haven’t seen in months but don’t forget about your family too! My dad and I always go to our local trail and go running or as a family we go on the boat or sit down for a nice meal and watch a movie afterwards

14. Get ahead or catch up on school work.

Trust me, school work is the last thing I want to be on my mind but if you don’t have much going on during this week, this would be the perfect opportunity to get on top of school work. I usually like to get all my work done in the first three days of break so I can relax the rest of the week.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
