Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and for those of you who are still single (HOLLA), there are so many things for you to do. If you're the only single one in your friend group, that is okay. Take this day to have some time for yourself and be thankful that you don't have to deal with the drama *Sorry, I meant the awesomeness* of having a boyfriend. Aside from crying about not having a boyfriend, this Valentine's Day has so much more in store for you! I promise, I am not one of those girls who dreads Valentine's Day, and here are 14 reasons why:
1. Thankfully, during the days prior, you won't have to worry about planning that big Valentine's Day date. Let's face it girls, we do ALL the planning.
2. You can help your friends pick out outfits and listen to them complain about their Valentine's Day date that hasn't happened yet. "I swear, if he doesn't get me anything..."
3. After going home and finally having that alone time, you can put on your leggings, pop a bag of popcorn (or two), and binge watch Netflix.
4. And if your friend group has others who are single, they're welcome to join the Netflix binging. Girls night!
5. To also apply to friend groups with more than one single girl, have a "secret Santa" gift exchange. Buy each other gag gifts and exchange on the big day.
6. You can also make an extravagant dinner for 1. Might I add... a FREE dinner for 1.
7. If you want to spend money though, you could be one of those people who goes to dinner by themselves on Valentine's Day. Maybe you'll meet the man of your dreams.
8. Hit up a movie alone, or drag one of your girlfriends. See the most cheesy and romantic movie, bring tissues, and count the number of couples in the theater (We all know who planned that date ladies).
9. Spend time with your family. Go out to dinner with your parents because 1. It's a free dinner and 2. Your parents are actually pretty cool.
10. Also spend time with your pet. Studies show that pets make you happier than any significant other can, so why not spend the most romantic night of the year with them.
11. Treat yo self. Buy yourself something that you've been dying to have. Whether it's food, a purse, a watch, or whatever, you'll always remember that you bought that for yourself on Valentine's Day 2016.
12. Send flowers to yourself. Nothing is better than receiving a bouquet of flowers. Send them to your work place and make sure to attach a romantic note from your "significant other". When co-workers ask who sent it, just say, "Someone who loves me for me."
13. Bake some delicious treats for yourself. Valentine's Day calls for baked goods, especially brownies or cookies. Bake and then binge watch Netflix while binge eating your treats. It's a win-win situation.
14. For the day after, hit up all the candy at discounted prices. Nothing says Valentine's Day like that $0.50 Hershey's bar from Target.
