14 Stages Of Finding A Date To A Function

Date function season is starting, and if you're anything like me, you never have a date. I have the biggest love/hate relationship with date functions. They're my favorite functions, but also my least favorite. The process of finding a date is long, hard, and stressful, and sometimes very desperate measures must be taken. Whether it's setting up fliers, application forms, or just going up to a random person at the bar, we must do whatever we can to find a good date.

1. When your social chair announces a date function coming up.

And that dates are due in two weeks.

2. Sisters with boyfriends talking about how they already have dates.

3. Said friend with boyfriend playing matchmaker.

And feeling like you're a solid three out of 10 when seeing the guys she suggests.

4. Every time a new one of your single friends finds a date.

5. When people ask you who you're taking.

6. You wonder if going with a pledge is still acceptable as an upperclassman.

7. You realize you need more guy friends.

8. Wishing the guy you have a crush on would just ask you to your own function.

I really want to ask you but I'm also really scared of you.

9. Finding out a freshman is taking an older guy.

Can you not.

10. Coming up with a plan to find a date the last weekend before dates are due.

This is it. This is our last chance at finding a date.

11. Hoping you'll meet the perfect guy two hours before the date google doc is due.

12. When the Google Doc is due in five minutes.

13. Begging your social chair for an extension.

14. But when you finally find that perfect date and he doesn't completely suck.

All the searching was worth it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
