We are all under daily stress, whether it is with school, family issues, sports, or whatever it may be. We are constantly striving to be the best version of ourselves and with this comes hard work and busy schedules. Below are some simple pleasures that make each day a little better and give us a sense of relaxation or pure bliss. Find your simple pleasure and make your stressful days a bit more enjoyable. I truly believe that the most enjoyable things in life come free.
1. Clean Sheets
Girls, nothing compares to newly shaven legs and cleaned bed sheets. It is indescribable and makes you feel like you have accomplished at least one thing if your day was full of scrambling around.
2. Working Out
To some, working out might be dreaded and just something required to stay healthy. But for me, it is the biggest stress release. Just put in the earphones and get your grind on. While you are working out, it will be tiresome and hard work but after you will feel a sense of relief and rejuvenation.
3. Sleeping In
For me, sleeping in is rare, so the one day that I get to sleep in after a very busy and productive week is something I look forward to and is so refreshing. Nothing is better than not having to wake up to an alarm but instead waking up to the sunshine on your own time.
4. Driving In Warm Weather
Nothing is more liberating than driving with the windows down, hair flying around, sunshine hitting your face while cruising down the highway with your friends in the back seat and blasting your favorite music. It is the biggest stress reliever and you have no worries in the world in that moment.
5. People Watching
This activity is always unique and there is always something new to be observing. There is a huge world out there and there is nothing more enjoyable than watching a bunch of strangers interacts without having to physically engage with them. You can just observe from a distance. It makes you realize how unique each individual is and the diversity you experience just within such a small space.
6. View From The Top Of A Mountain
This really puts everything into perspective. In a sense, it makes you feel very insignificant in the moment, which is also a strange sense of relief knowing that everything will be ok. It lets you break away from your stresses at the time and get the big picture of life.
7. Laughing Until You Cry With The People You Love
Tears are pouring down your face, you can’t breathe, your abs hurt, sometimes the laugh doesn’t even make a sound. And you look to your side and your best friend is rolling around doing the same exact thing. Sharing this moment creates an indescribable bond with the other person and gives you a sense of security and friendship. Not to mention afterward you feel like a new person and have a more positive outlook on the day.
8. A Beautiful Sunset On The Water
Like the Mountain View, this really puts things into perspective. In this moment, there is nothing else on your mind other than the spectacular scenery in front of you. It isthe most relaxing thing to just sit on the sand and look at the sky and focus on the details of the sky and water rather than on the details of your life.
9. The Right Song At The Right Time
Songs click with us at different times depending on our moods. But that moment that a song comes on and it is perfectly reflective of your mood, it is a game changer. You could be having a terrible day, but then your jam comes on, you get a little dance on and realize everything will be ok because you rock. Or maybe the song brings back a certain memory that brings feelings of happiness that can change your mood.
10. Taking A Long, Hot Shower
