Growing up with brothers is a privilege not a right. Some days you ask God why you were placed in this house of terror, and other days you can't imagine a life without them. I have learned a lot from my brothers and noticed 14 signs that distinguish me from other sibling holders.
1. You know sports. Like really know sports.
You can hold your own in sports conversation because you were forced to watch ESPN sports center at leas four times over the weekend.
Sometimes you even correct guys when they say the score wrong, but not all the time because you don't want to hurt their confidence.2. You had a crush on at least of of their friends.
You thought his friends were angels sent down to earth to guide you into a beautiful relationship, but they only thought of you as a little sister. Oh well, at least they were nice to look at.
3. You have lied for them.
"Yes, mom. He came home last night before curfew." "No, mom. He did not get pulled over for speeding." Siblings have got to stick together. And it makes for great leverage.
4. You sometimes wonder if you are adopted.
For the last time, no, I am not adopted, but I appreciate your constant concern to make me feel accepted. This was a daily thing growing up only because you were constantly told you were adopted, but sometimes you really wonder how you can be related to people so mean.

5. You had random girls trying to be your friend to get close to your brothers.
Um, no. He’s mine, so you can just back off. Fake friends are just a part of having awesome brothers, but you get to use your "friendships" to warn your brothers who to stay away from.
6. No boy EVER comes near you.
Thank you brothers, but I can handle this. Every time a boy even thought about asking you out, your brother would have him running the other way. Sure, he wants what is best for you, but he could at least let you go on one date.
7. You are independent.
Growing up with brothers often meant playing alone, but that was okay. You learned how to survive on your own because you were often left out or ignored.
8. You are protected.
Your brothers and their friends would do anything for you. When I broke my toe, my brothers took turns carrying me across the beach so I could be with everyone. They may seem tough, but they have a soft spot for their sister.
9. You are confident.
Knowing you have brothers to back you up no matter what you do makes you unstoppable. All the constant ridicule, teasing, name calling and hazing turned out to actually make you secure in whom you are.
10. You are a daddy's girl.
You know this. Your brothers know this. The world knows this. And all of you are okay with this. No one can tamper the special connection between a dad and his daughter.
11. You are really picky on who you date.
Your brothers set the standard really high. They have shown you what a true gentlemen is like. They taught you never to compromise and they have shown you what unconditional love is. If your brothers wouldn't approve, you can't date them.
12. You are responsible.
Your mom always left you in charge because your brothers would probably burn the house down or break something. Sometimes you act like your brothers' second mom even though they never listen to you. This has helped you so much in life because people trust you.
13. You know your limits.
Between the verbal abuse and occasional tackle, you somehow managed to become stronger because you are aware of what you can and cannot do. You would never pick a physical fight with your brothers, but you can hold your own in a verbal fight.
14. You have best friends for life.
Your brothers will always be there for you no matter what. Through all the fights and teasing, your brothers taught you so much about life. You may not see them everyday, but you thank God everyday for them.
