Being busy is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand you feel super productive, but on the other hand you feel like you have no time for anything. This semester has been by far the busiest of my life. Balancing an internship that takes up my weekends and class load that takes up all my other time has got me going crazy. I'm even busy writing this article right now.
1. Naps have become nonexistent.
And sleep has become ancient history. I have always been an advocate for a good nap, but now it just seems like a waste of precious time.
2. Getting off work early is the best thing ever.
Those extra thirty minutes can be life-changing.
3. Your room is messy.
When you are too busy, the last thing you want to do is clean your room. After awhile, it just starts to pile up.
4. You forget to eat.
Probably because you don't have time to grocery shop either. Nothing is worse than getting a headache at the end of a long day and realizing it is because you haven't eaten.
5. Your parents wonder what you've been up to.
They are also asking if you are OK because they haven't heard from you in ages. Sorry mom, I'm working hard so I don't have to move back in after I graduate.
6. You have no social life.
And your friends don't understand why they never see you.
7. Time goes by too fast.
They say that time flies when you're having fun. They also forget to tell us that time flies when you are way too busy. There are never enough hours in the day.
8. Your life is organized.
Your day is planned out and your daily planner is your best friend.
9. Everyone tells you that you are too busy.
Yes I get it. But it's not like I wanted to be this busy, either.
10. The stress is real.
Stress has become a way of life. Long gone are the stress and worry free days.
11. You don't know how to react when you have free time.
Free time? What's that?
12. Everything is strictly business.
Wasting time is not an option. You have become a master at getting down to business and time management is your best friend. There is no time to be patient.
13. You're constantly overthinking.
Whether it is planning your time or deciding when you will fit in time to eat dinner, your mind never stops. Even before sleep your brain is on overload of things you need to do for the next day.
14. Multi-tasking is your best friend.
You may not have a lot of real friends because you blew them off too much, but at least you know how to multitask like a pro.
But in the end, I wouldn't trade being busy for anything. Your resume will thank you in the long run.
