As the election approaches and the world seems to get dimmer, there's never been a better time to indulge in some good old escapism. Here is what you should be binge watching while you curl up on your couch as the weather gets chillier.
1. Scandal

2. Curb Your Enthusiasm
Curb hasn't had a new episode since 2011, but this summer HBO announced that it will be returning for a ninth season. So you should probably go and laugh at Larry David on HBOGo or HBONow while you wait for a season nine release date.
3. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Cheesy? Yes. Worth it to watch Buffy kick ass? Absolutely. You can watch all eight seasons of this Joss Whedon cult classic on Netflix.
4. The Office
This one is a no brainer but it is one of those shows that you can watch over and over again and laugh even harder each time. All nine seasons are streaming on Netflix.
5. UnReal
Okay so yes this is a Lifetime original show, but it is actually amazing and critically acclaimed. It is a fictitious show about the producers of a reality show "Everlasting" created by a former producer of The Bachelor. I love a show that explores what good vs. evil really means through their main characters. Not to mention that it is a part of Lifetime's new initiative #Fempire. You can watch season one of UnReal on Hulu, and seasons one and two on MyLifetime.com or their app.
6. Vice Principals
Vice Principals just finished it's first breakout season this past month and I honestly am already pining for more. Somehow Danny McBride isn't even the most absurd and hilarious part of the show, however if you are an East Bound & Down fan then you should definitely check this out. No second season is confirmed yet but Danny McBride did just sign a two year contract with HBO so we can only hope that means the next installment of Vice Principals is coming soon. While you're waiting, you can watch the whole first season on HBOGo and HBONow.
7. LOST
You might be seriously confused and forgotten everything by the time you reach the end of the sixth season, but that's okay because that's basically the strategy the writers used too. This show is complicated AF but it is also an emotional rollercoaster that I watch on Netflix over and over again. I'm not crying, you're crying.
8. Broad City
No explanation is needed, but if you insist you can just read my article entirely devoted to these kweens.
9. Tremé
Obsess over LaDonna. Listen to beautiful music. Educate yourself on Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans culture. Watch Tremé on HBOGo, HBONow, and Amazon Prime.
10. Arrested Development
Arrested Development never gets old. Watch seasons one through three on Netflix, and then watch season four on Netflix if you have to.
11. Dexter
If you love serial killer documentaries, then you love the exploration of psychology of serial killers so you will love Dexter. The last couple seasons are a bit questionable, however once you're there, you have to finish the rest. All eight seasons are streaming on Netflix.
12. How to Get Away with Murder
Speaking of murder, this show is incredible. Shonda Rhimes never disappoints and Viola Davis' performance is outstanding. The show is two episodes into it's third season, so it is the perfect time to binge the first two seasons on Netflix and then catch up on current episodes on Hulu or OnDemand.
13. Veronica Mars
Another Joss Whedon cult classic that follows a bad ass crime fighting high school girl. This show is very near and dear to my heart and I can quote the majority of the episodes from all three seasons. This neo-noir drama is corny at times but Kristen Bell as the harrowing Veronica Mars, teenage detective will have your heart immediately. This one got cancelled after they filmed the last episode of its third and final season so thankfully they just made the movie in 2014, which was the first feature length film to be entirely funded by Kickstarter. Unfortunately Veronica Mars isn't currently streaming anywhere, but it is completely worth the trip to the library to rent the DVDs.
14. Freaks and Geeks
The only thing wrong with Freaks and Geeks is that it only had one season. Freaks and Geeks still manages to be one of the most popular cult classic television shows, no doubt thanks to creator Judd Apatow and the amazing ensemble cast. Who doesn't love a teenage James Franco, Busy Philipps, Jason Segel and Seth Rogen? This one is another one I could quote every episode, yet I know I'll never get sick of it. You can watch the short and sweet single season on Netflix.
Happy bingeing!
