Each generation can identify a group of movies that were essentially staples of their youth. While I'm not sure there is a single movie that defines my generation the same way that The Breakfast Club and Fast Times At Ridgemont High defined my parents', there are certainly movies that are near universally quotable for us. One of these is School of Rock starring Jack Black. Its enormous popularity has had such an impact on the past decade that it is being turned into a musical produced by none other than Broadway giant and living legend Andrew Lloyd Webber (The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar.... the list goes on).
Though their ten-year-old characters are immortalized by the movie, the actors/real-life kids in the band have grown up, and so have we. While we may not identify with these fifth graders the same way we used to (we might identify more with Dewey Finn at this point), we can still apply moments from this 'classic' movie to our lives in college.
