It's here! Finals are almost over, which means it's almost time to go home for the summer! Ahead of us are four whole months of relaxation, sunshine and fun. But before we get there, the transition from college life back to home life can be… interesting.
1. Having to follow your parents' rules again after a whole year of freedom is… awkward
(Especially if you have strict parents.)
2. Trying to find a summer job is the BIGGEST PAIN IN THE BUTT.
Almost as much as having to go to work when all your friends are at the beach.
3. You're so excited to eat at all your local favorites that you make the huge mistake of squeezing them all into one day.
4. You get harassed by all the relatives you haven't seen since Christmas for not calling them enough.
5. Everyone asks you about how your semester went, how your grades are and what you're gonna do with your life after college.
6. You can't remember the last time you slept so well because you're finally not on your terrible dorm "mattress."
7. You miss your school friends from other parts of the country so much you schedule Skype hangouts with them.
8. You drive around surprised and confused about all the changes/new buildings around town.
9. You laugh at the poor high school kids who are still stuck in classes until June.
10. You're happy to eat food at home you would usually complain about because it's not dining hall food.
11. You follow your pets around for hours because you're just so astonished they exist.
12. Going out in public means seeing a bunch of people you grew up with… which can either be a blessing or a curse.
13. You wake up expecting to still be at school and are super confused when you see where you are.
14. You kinda feel like a stay-at-home parent because you have nothing to do during the day except run errands, do chores and watch daytime TV
…but compared to your crazy school schedule, you don't necessarily mind.
