I know it’s November, and Thanksgiving hasn’t even happened yet, but somehow my brain is always thinking Christmas. As much as I love Thanksgiving, Christmas is my favorite holiday. There’s something about the happiness in people’s eyes, the bright lights, and being around family.

Over the years, there have been many Christmas movies made, especially since the Hallmark channel shows Christmas movies all November and December. You know I'm already listening to Christmas music and watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. The leaves are still falling, but here are some Christmas movies to get you excited for the holiday season.

Here are my 14 Christmas movies.

1. The Nightmare Before Christmas

I thought I’d start this list with the Tim Burton classic that involves all the holidays for you strict no-Christmas-until-after-Thanksgiving people.

2. Elf

Will Ferrell is a hilarious grown up elf in this NYC Christmas classic. This is my all-time favorite Christmas movie.

3. Christmas With The Kranks

A couple tries to travel to the Carribean for Christmas to escape the hustle and bustle. I think Frosty on the roof with the fire in his eyes still gives me nightmares.

4. The Santa Clause

1, 2, or 3, you can't go wrong with Tim Allen as Kris Kringle.

5. Love Actually

A classic romantic comedy that will get you in the loving Christmas spirit. This is one of my mom's favorites but I think it's mainly her love for Hugh Grant...

6. Home Alone

In any of the Home Alone movies, Kevin McCallister can outsmart all the bad guys.

7. The Polar Express

Make sure you don't lose your ticket!

8. A Charlie Brown Christmas

Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown! This cute TV special is sure to get you in the spirit.

9. Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

In Whoville, they say the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day.

10. The Holiday

A classic feel-good movie with some romance.

11. Four Christmases

The dysfunctional families we can all relate to. Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon have to survive Christmas with four different families when their flight to get away is canceled.

12. How The Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966)

The original version where cute little Cindy Lou Who isn't Jenny from Gossip Girl and she slides across the floor.

13. Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer

Cute little reindeer with a bright nose leads the way and saves Christmas!

14. Fred Claus

A twist on jolly ol' St. Nick, Santa's delinquent brother comes to the North Pole.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
