With Christmas being so close, I have gotten into the holiday spirit and have been rewatching all of my favorite Christmas movies.

As basic as it may be, How the Grinch Stole Christmas has, and always will be, my favorite Christmas movie of all time. Jim Carrey absolutely killed this role, and I am pretty sure Dr. Suess would have been extremely proud.

Not only does the Grinch have the perfect Christmas message, but the movie is all around hilarious. In my opinion, there is not another movie that screams Christmas like the Grinch does.

I am pretty obsessed with this movie and watch it a couple times a week. I have realized that the Grinch basically reminds me of not only myself, but all of my friends.

Troublemaker, uncontrollable emotions, and flat out funny as hell, here are 13 times the Grinch was every college student:

1. When you're getting roasted by your friends and pretend that everything is fine:

2. When you start to like the person you have been talking to for a few weeks:

3. How you feel as you read your planner at the beginning of each week:

4. Turning in all your finals at the last minute like:

5. After a relationship ends, trying to move on like:

6. When your teacher uses your paper as an example of someone who spent a lot of time and effort:

7. When your friend texts you and asks if you want to pregame:

8. Netflix has asked you if you are still watching five times already, and you have eaten four times as much as you should have:

9. Leaving the bar with your squad like:

10. When you want to go home but your friends make you stay out later:

11. You haven't gotten out of bed all day and the group message starts going off about what your plans are for the night:

12. The constant struggle of trying to find something to wear out:

'

13. When you basically blink and the semester is almost over:

As stressful and hectic as college can be, I wouldn't trade this experience and my time here for anything in the world.

I hope everyone enjoys their holidays with their friends and family and spends the time off relaxing because in a few short weeks we get to come back to our college towns and do it all over again.

Happy Holidays!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
