13 Thoughts You Have While Watching A Game Show

Game shows – the things you watch when you’re home from school. Or maybe you watch a lot of the Game Show Network (GSN). Game shows have been around for a long time, and continue to maintain their popularity. Whatever your reason for watching them, we’ve all had these thoughts during a game show.

1. Wow, I love the models’ dresses.

The models from “The Price is Right” and “Deal or No Deal” are well-dressed every episode, with an extensive wardrobe that any girl would be jealous of. Who cares about the game or the prize money – where did you get that dress?

2. What a weirdo.

We get it, you’re excited to be on the show – now would you please calm the f*** down. There is no reason to be yelling everything. Seriously, do you have to be a nutjob to be on one of these shows?

3. HOLY $@!# A NEW CAR!!!

It may be the most typical line heard in any game show (mainly “The Price is Right”), but that car looks awesome! I want a new car! Except when it comes in brown, but even then you still want the car.

4. The answer is C, you moron!

It’s so obvious to you. And the person watching the show with you. And everyone else in the world… except for the contestant answering the question. Come on, it’s the easiest question ever! How do you not know this?! Pfft, stupid.

5. Really? You got out that fast?

Most contestants do fairly decent, and a few even do amazing and win big money. Then there are those idiots who are out of the game after only one or two questions. These are

the people who didn’t pick C.

6. Take the money!

That’s a lot of money being offered, and there are always those gamblers who put viewers on edge. Don’t be greedy – just take the money! Of course, once they do, they find that they would have won the big money had they kept playing.

7. This idiot has no chance.

They may not be out of the game yet, but they used up all their lifelines after three questions, so they’re not going to make it much further. You know they’re going to lose. It’s only a matter of time.

8. I knew it!

“Find out… when we come back!” The buildup in the music, the host adding tension… You saw that commercial throw from a mile away. After watching enough game shows, they don’t even surprise you anymore. Oh well, time to get more food.

9. I feel like such an old person...

The commercials are more to blame for this, but watching ads for Medicare or life insurance makes you feel weird! You’re not going to need that stuff for a very long time (your parents, on the other hand…). Wait, what’s my age again?

10. Why am I even watching this?!

I ask myself this all the time, and the answer is… I honestly have no idea. Why am I watching this? Because it’s fun? Certainly takes your mind off of things… like school… and family… and… yeah, I don’t really care.

11. Why can't someone give me all that money?

Come on! I would LOVE to win a million dollars, or even a new car. I’ve got bills to pay (and by bills, I mean student loans… soon…)! Plus I want to do some traveling and stuff. Help a girl out?

12. I should audition for this show...

Yes, I’ll go on (insert game show here) and win ALL THE MONEY! Gather up some siblings or cousins and go try out for “Family Feud.” Or even grab some really close

friends, who cares. Make it a team effort.

13. I love game shows!

Yes, yes you do.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
