Some nights we need to stay in and dedicate a night to treating ourselves to relaxing. Try these therapeutic tricks that will help you relax and unwind from a really long week.

1. Candles

Lighting candles is an easy way to make your atmosphere super relaxing. And in no time your room will smell great. That’s a win/win.

2. Tea

Instead of having coffee for the 3rd time in one day, drink hot tea. Teas have a lot of benefits for your overall health and most of them are caffeine free.

3. Lotion

It might sound unnecessary but its actually easy to forget to moisturize. Dry skin is not cute but happens to the best of us. Plus you’ll smell amazing while you get soft skin.

4. Eat anything baked

Literally treat yourself to cookies and cake. Its fun to bake and even more fun to eat what you made.

5. Fuzzy socks

You know you have 18 pairs of fuzzy socks in your drawer. Treat your feet.

6. Comfy sweats or pajamas

You are in the privacy of your home and no one is judging you for wearing stained sweatpants. What a great feeling.

7. No makeup.

Your face will thank you. It's important to take off your makeup and let your skin breathe.

8. Face Mask

The best part of using a face mask is that you look so weird and can’t help but laugh when you look in the mirror. Pinterest even has recipes for face masks you can make yourself using ingredients in your kitchen.

9. Lush bath bomb

The ultimate calming activity is taking a bath. Throw in a cool bath bomb from Lush and you have a tub filled with pretty colors to chill in.

10. Coloring book

Get yourself a coloring book for adults aka the best invention ever. The pages are really pretty and get your mind off of everything.

11. Reality TV.

You need some Bachelor and Keeping Up With the Kardashians in your life. Trust me you will laugh and enjoy yourself when watching reality show drama.

12. Read a book

We all wish we could read more but never have time. Get yourself a novel reading before bed is a good way to make falling asleep easier.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
