Morrow County, located in central Ohio, will always be home. Sure, nobody knows where it is, everybody knows everybody, and it can be very boring with how small it is, but it will always be home. There are some things you just know are true and can't find anywhere but Morrow County.

1. Everywhere you go you see someone you know.

Everywhere you go in Morrow County you run into someone you know. You'll find yourself having to make awkward small talk for what feels like forever or you find yourself hiding and going out of your way to avoid them.

2. Pot holes everywhere.

Sure, there are potholes everywhere. But, the ones in Morrow County seem insane. Basically the roads are an entire hole. You have to take detours around town just to avoid the insanely rough roads.

3. Nobody knows where you're from.

Whenever you describe where you're from you always get a very confused response. Usually, you have to just say you're from Columbus even though we aren't actually that close to it.

4. FFA, the fair, and drive your tractor to school day are very serious things.

Basically everyone is involved in FFA and if you aren't at the fair at the end of August, who are you? Don't forget about the seriousness of driving your tractor to school day. It's real.

5. You've known the same people you're entire life.

You have known you're best friend forever. You went to school with the same people since kindergarten until graduation.

6. You have to drive far away to get to anything good.

Sure, we have a few stores close if we really need something. However, all the good stores and all the good fast food places are at least a 15 minute drive.

7. Getting stuck behind a tractor is normal.

It's still annoying every time it happens, but at this point you're used to it happening.

8. Driving the backroads listening to music is considered fun.

Just driving around with the windows down and the music all the way up is such a good time.

9. Your teachers refer to you as your siblings or even your parents all throughout school.

Chances are your entire family, including your siblings, parents, and even your grandparents went through the same school with the same exact teachers. Getting called by the wrong name becomes normal.

10. Everyone knows everything about everyone.

It's a small town. People do talk.

11. It's literally in the middle of nowhere.

We really do live in the middle of a cornfield.

12. Meeting someone new from Morrow County feels like a miracle.

Finding new friends or someone to date in Morrow County is so had. But, you meet new people more often than you think. I know I went away to college and ended up meeting someone in my sorority from Morrow County. It's always a cool feeling to meet someone new when you feel like you know everyone.

13. There's only one Morrow County...

No matter what, it is home. Even when it's small and you feel tired of it. Even when you can't wait to get out. It's home. Always.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
