So you just began your journey of looking into possible colleges. Every school stands out for its own reasons and you are torn between a few colleges. I'm not going to sugar coat it for you, Eau Claire has its ups and downs just like every other college does. It's just a matter of what is most important to you and what you can let go.

1. The hill really is that bad...

2. And no, it doesn't get any better throughout the year

3. The heating system in Towers is weird, so you will be able to hear every word your neighbors are saying

4. You will get sick of the food at Hilltop very quickly

5. There will be random protests and times where people are handing out flyers about who knows what

6. The police on campus are not very willing to help you unless it is an ABSOLUTE emergency

7. There are students working security who are obligated to call the police if you come in insanely drunk

8. With that being said, the party scene isn't even all that wonderful here

9. Our football team is not very good, so don't expect much out of them

10. The closets look tiny, but you will be able to fit everything in them if you try hard

11. Most class sizes are actually pretty small (at least for a college class)

12. The RA's are pretty lenient for the most part (but will crack down when necessary)

13. The people here are genuinely kind

Every college will have its ups and downs. The University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire is a wonderful school to attend and I would not have it any other way! With all of these facts in mind, you will still have a great time here!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
