People desire to have whatever they want instantly; hence the growing popularity of binge-watching TV shows. So of course, streaming TV shows online has become extremely prominent in all ages. It being summer, a list of must-see shows on Netflix is absolutely necessary. Some of these shows are not Netflix originals so if you haven’t seen them on TV, you can watch them on Netflix and get caught up to the current season.
1. “Orange is the New Black”
One of my favorites, oitnb ventures into a womens’ prison and shares the pasts and presents of the prisoners as the inside and outside worlds collide. The most recent season is now available to stream!
2. “Unbreakable: Kimmy Schmidt”
I usually watch this show when I am multi-tasking. It is super random and funny. New episodes are up for this show too.
3. “Brain Games”
For those of us who believe watching too many television dramas is mind numbing, here is a great show for you. The show explains the plethora of tricks your brain uses and illusions it falls victim to. Great show for anyone interested in the brain or why people do what they do in general!
4. “Pretty Little Liars”
Pretty Little Liars attracted the most reliable fan base because the mystery of who is taunting the five girls deepens with each episode. If you love plot twists, this is a show for you. Season 7 is airing now (on Tuesdays).
5. “Once Upon a Time”

6. “American Horror Story”
I am the contradictory horror fanatic. Love scary, hate being afraid—so of course watching AHS and liking the show was a shock to me. Each season takes on a new theme and features plot twists and just the right amount of horror. While I can’t watch AHS alone, it is a great show (Season 3, Coven is my favorite season but I haven’t seen Hotel yet).
7. “MTV Scream”
I just started this show and so far, it has not disappointed. Plenty of plot twists and again, just the right amount of horror. The second season just started up again on TV, but the first is on Netflix so you can at least get an idea of what the show is about.
8. “Degrassi: Next Class”
This show is VERY Secret Life of the American Teenager-esque, so if you loved Secret Life, you’ll probably love this show too. The acting is a tad mediocre but nonetheless, for those of us who loved the original Degrassi, this throwback revival was greatly anticipated.
9. “Grey’s Anatomy”
Great show but warning, you will cry tears-- real tears. This show is super intense and there are plenty of seasons on Netflix to binge watch. New episodes are available to stream now!
10. “Ghost Whisperer”
Love, love, love this show! It isn’t scary and the plot is great: a woman able to see the dead helps the spirits resolve their issues here on Earth so they are able to crossover. The overall story progresses slowly but even so, the show is still a must see.
11. “Gossip Girl”'

12. “Heroes”
I used to be afraid of this show when it first came out but growing up has fostered serious curiosity surrounding the show and I just had to watch it. Heroes does not disappoint and the entire show is on Netflix so you can binge watch it in full. It’s sequel, Heroes Reborn aired on TV recently.
13. “How to Get Away With Murder”
Viewer discretion is advised: I am not telling you a lie when I say this show will make you want to become an attorney. Again, plot twists, plot twists, plot twists—they do not end! Annalise is an attorney with serious sophistication and genius. The show continually creates more and more depth to the characters only adding to the interest factor of this show.
