With the start of fall, and September coming to an end, there are many reasons why so many people are in love with October. The sporadic warm and cold days throughout September and finally over, and the chilly but comfortable weather of October is approaching. But the weather isn’t the only thing to love about this month. Below is a list of things you fall in love with year after year when October comes back around.

1. The turn of the season: No matter the season; whether it be winter, spring, summer, or fall, it’s always exciting when it starts. October is when you can really feel the coming of Autumn, and the crispness in the air.

2. Fall leaves: The leaves begin to turn color, and we can enjoy them before the cold weather comes and the trees become bare.

3. Bonfires: Because who doesn’t love to sit near a bonfire on a chilly night? Especially when there’s s’mores involved.

4. Pumpkin flavored (everything): Typical, but it’s also exciting to see the new pumpkin flavored things they come out with every year. There’s always a new pumpkin flavored item, and everyone loves pumpkin spice.

5. Pumpkins (in general): There are so many things you can do with pumpkins, and there’s so much to love about them. Using them for decorations, roasting the seeds, baking a pie, or just the nostalgia of carving them out as a lantern.

6. Apple picking: The activity of picking apples is always fun, whether it be with friends or a significant other. It’s also a plus to have a ton of fresh apples to eat (or bake) afterwards.

7. Haunted Houses: Because a haunted house is fun no matter how old you get.

8. Halloween movies: "Hocus Pocus", "Halloween Town", and ABC Family’s 13 nights of Halloween... just to name a few

9. The aisles of supermarkets being stocked with decorations and candy: No matter how old I get I will always get excited seeing endless amounts of candy and Halloween decorations.

10. Costumes: weather you spend three months or one day picking the perfect costume for that Halloween party, it’s always fun to dress up.

11. Boots and flannels: We can finally put away the sandals and t-shirts and breakout the boots and flannels who had reserved a place in our closets for the chillier months.

12. Halloween sugar cookies cookies: you know which ones I’m talking about.

13. Sweater weather: Nothing is more comfortable than an over-sized sweater or zip-up.
