13 Reasons Why Taylor Swift Needs To Come To Virginia Tech's 2016 Relay For Life

Taylor, Virginia Tech has put together 13 solid reasons as to why you need to come to our 2016 Relay For Life (note: all 13 reasons are based on your song lyrics):

1. We don't know about you, but on April 22 - "22"

This year, Virginia Tech’s Relay For Life event is taking place on April 22, 2016, and we would love to have you be our headline performer. By this point in the year, your 1989 tour will have officially ended, so why not do something incredible for an amazing cause? We don’t know about you, but on April 22, Virginia Tech will be fighting cancer from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., and we want you there with us.

2. We'd be enchanted to meet you - "Enchanted"

Our campus and community are full of students and families who absolutely adore your music, character, and heart for giving back to different causes. I know you probably hear that you have the biggest fans all over the world, but here at Virginia Tech, we have students who will come to tears just dreaming about an opportunity to have you come to our campus. You won’t find a bigger fan-based population than here at Virginia Tech.

3. We will be remembered - "Long Live"

When Virginia Tech decides to go after something, when Virginia Tech decides to become a part of something, when Virginia Tech decides to be something greater than themselves, we can guarantee you that we will go all out to achieve whatever it is we want to achieve. We can guarantee you that we will keeping working at it until there is nothing left to be worked at. We can guarantee you that through everything we do as Virginia Tech, we will be remembered.

4. But we keep cruising, can't stop, won't stop fighting - "Shake it Off"

I’ve said this a million times before, and it will never get old: Virginia Tech is known for the kind of community we are. We come together in the good times, the bad times, and all the times in between. As a community, we’ve already come together to try to bring you to Tech. As a community, we’ll continue to come together until you decide to come to Tech. We want to support you and your family through your fight. That’s what the Virginia Tech community is all about, and we want to you and your family be a part of our community.

5. Cancer research means so much more since everything has changed - "Everything Has Changed"

Throughout these last couple of years, you’ve had your fair share of encounters with this terrible disease, and as students, we’ve also encountered our own fights with cancer. You’ve shown your support for families fighting this disease in the past, so why not continue showing your passion for putting an end to cancer? And what better way than to show the world at the largest collegiate Relay For Life seven years running, at Virginia Tech?

6. We want cancer to go out of style - "Style"

Virginia Tech’s Relay For Life Team works day in and day out to raise funds, support, and fight for a cure. This awful disease has taken away too many lives, and it’s time for it to officially go out of style. Our students, faculty and staff, and local community are all ready for it all be out of style, and we know you are, too. Come join us in our fight.

7. For the fearless - "Fearless"

Relay For Life isn’t just a one night event for us. It’s a long fight – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year until there is a cure. We dedicate our fight to those who face this battle on a daily basis. We dedicate our fight to those who have lost. We dedicate our fight for the fearless.

8. For the night things change, can you see it now? - "Change"

As the nation’s largest collegiate Relay For Life, it is time for us to take Relay For Life to a whole new level of large, and you can help us get there. Having you come to Blacksburg, Virginia and perform on our drill field the night of the relay would change the relay as we know it. Having such a well-respected artist like yourself support such a huge cause would take us to the top once more. Think about the numbers that will rise – participants, money raised, awareness spread. All of this takes us one step further to finding a cure. It will be an event to be remembered. And with your help, one of these nights, these things will change, and cancer will no longer be something we have to fight for.

9. You belong at VT - "You Belong with Me"

Taylor, in all your years of touring, never once have you taken the stage in Blacksburg, Virginia. While Blacksburg may be a small college town, we are a small college town that sure as heck knows how to come out for a good time. Take our famous Lane Stadium, for instance. Every football game, that stadium gets filled. Win or lose, that stadium stays full. Good or bad, that stadium will continue to get filled. And if you come -- when you come -- to Virginia Tech, we can promise you, rain or shine, you will have one of the biggest crowds in any town you could perform in. The energy that surrounds not only Virginia Tech, but the entire Blacksburg community, is enough to send chills through your body. It’s the kind of energy that can keep you going for hours on end. Taylor, you belong at Virginia Tech.

10. We've got a blank space, Taylor, and we'll write your name - "Blank Space"

Virginia Tech Relay For Life is ready for you to come join our team. Since day one of planning our 2016 Relay event, we’ve left a blank space in our performance line up, and we’re ready to write your name in it. And we’ll leave it blank until you tell us otherwise.

11. Flash forward, and we're taking on Relay together - "Mine"

Just imagine in just a few short months, you could taking on Virginia Tech’s Relay For Life event in front of a crowd full of passionate, dedicated, and driven fans. We can see the headlines already: “Taylor Swift Teams up with Virginia Tech’s Relay For Life to Take a Stand Against Cancer.” One of the world’s biggest music stars and the nation’s largest collegiate Relay For Life together? We’d be known as the dream team.

12. This is not the last time we're asking you this - "The Last Time"

As stated in an earlier article, we’re not backing down. We will dedicate our year to getting you to perform at Virginia Tech’s Relay For Life event. We will continue to write articles, research contacts, make promo videos – whatever it may be, we’ll do it until we get you here. Persistence is an understatement when it comes to describing Virginia Tech, so don’t expect us to stop asking you any time soon.

13. Our last request (for now) is to say you'll fight cancer with VT - "Wildest Dreams"

Taylor, it is our wildest dream for you to join our Relay For Life team and show support for such an amazing cause. It is our wildest dream for you to participate in our Relay For Life event and help us raise money for cancer research. It is our wildest dream for you to come to Virginia Tech and say you’ll fight cancer for an entire night with us.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
