1. She will forgive me for any mistake I make.
I am always so scared to tell my mom about something I have messed up — a phone I’ve lost or a test I’ve failed. But once I do, even if she’s mad, it is never for long and she will always be there to support and help me through it.
2. I can call her at 4 a.m. and she will answer. Every time.
Maybe other moms don't do this and she’s just paranoid, but I know her phone is always by her side ON LOUD, and she will always be prepared and ready to help.
3. She knows me better than I know myself.
Meaning she gives great advice in any situation: when I'm mad at my boyfriend and being emotional or even advice concerning how to save money and finding proper employment.
4. She will keep every single one of my secrets.
She is like my version of a diary EXCEPT she will always agree with me and give me warm hugs.
5. I always know she will take my side in any argument.
Even if I am wrong because, yeah, my mom is that cool.
6. She believes in me more than anyone else I know.
She gives me endless love and support in anything I do. She might be the only person in the world who believes I can actually accomplish whatever I set my mind to — like even really crazy things.
7. Her closet is MY closet.
So when I go home, I basically quadruple the number of shoe options I have.
8. Nothing can make me feel safer than a hug from her.
On my worst days, I know it’s the perfect remedy, and even when I get older, I know that’s something that will never change.
9. She will like every single one of my posts on Instagram or Facebook just because.
I can always count on getting at least one like and not being completely unpopular. Thanks, Mom.
10. She will always pick me up when I am down.
I can vent and complain about anything or anyone and she will just listen. And sometimes, when I am done, she tells me they suck and that I am way better than them because who doesn’t want that kind of confidence boost?
11. It would be more entertaining to sit at home and drink wine with her than go to an actual party.
Because, let’s face it, my mom is hilarious (obviously I had to get my good sense of humor from somewhere).
12. Good news doesn’t feel real until I’ve shared it with her.
No one is more excited or proud of my accomplishments than she is, and sharing them with her is almost better than actually achieving them.
13. Above all, I am genuinely proud when people tell me I am just like her.
I love you, Mom.
