In response to the 2016 Presidential Election, I have compiled a list of reactions.

1. "Wow...I can't believe it."

2. "I'm one of the select few in NY that is happy with the outcome, primarily because the thought of Hillary running our country is terrifying"

3. "85% of Americans were voting AGAINST a candidate, rather than FOR."

4. "Cannot believe this was actually an election"

5. "I'm sad about the negative reactions of people but a bit anxious to see how it goes."

6." Being that everyone of voting age is legally considered an adult, I'd like to see more people act like it. You may not like our presidential elect, but we need to give him a chance. I was pleasantly surprised with how he reacted after he was elected. His concession speech was appropriate, and should be applauded. Obama said things went well in the Oval Office, so as of right now we need to take it at face value. He has not done anything crazy, and seems to be more level headed now that he won. He IS our president, and as American's we cannot threaten to abandon our country and everything it's ever stood for just because things are tough."

7."As soon as the people understand that the World Series is not won by who scores the most runs, but rather who wins the most games, we can start moving forward."

8. "Do me a favor - if you're white and hetero and especially male. . . . Don't tell people not to be afraid. Don't tell people they are blowing their feelings out of proportion, or that they are exaggerating the danger. You don't know what their life is like. I don't. Have some #2!@%4& compassion."

9. "The amount of states that Trump has won shows just how truly backwards this country is. Any progress we've had is just an illusion. This country is full of islamophobes, homophobes, racists, misogynists, etc. all around the board and we're actually /proud/ of it. Utterly disgusting."

10. "I am leaving this $3&%@!2 country!"

11. " They are doing charity work" (in response to flag burning protesters)

12. "It's embarrassing not that Trump is our president but that so many are saying they're embarrassed to be Americans and that they're scared for our country. Maybe these weak minded people who are saying this really should consider moving elsewhere. I'm not embarrassed that Donald Trump was elected president, in fact I'm anxious to see what he can do and how he can unit us all but I am embarrassed to call those people who are ashamed of OUR country my fellow Americans. Trump is going to be the next president and you might not like him but respect the position."

13." If you supported Trump unfriend me now."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
