Living at home vs. living in your college dorm or apartment? Tough debate? I think so. On the one hand, freedom and no authority figure to tell you what to do. On the other, free laundry and food. As much as I love being at home, it is usually an emotional rollercoaster. Here is how I would describe coming home from college and summer through memes.
1. Day One: You are overwhelmed with joy
You just finished finals week and now you have escaped the prison that feeds you poorly and makes you pay way too much money for procrastinating laundry.
2. Week Two: Still feeling PTSD from school
You tell yourself you deserve some rest and sleep, which turns into you actually transforming into a literal potato.
3. Still Week Two: You have an epiphany
You realize that you need to have experience on your resume so you try to get a job. Whilst applying for said job, you also realize you have no experience. Just the kind of good news you were looking for.
4. Week 3: People start to notice you're a potato
By people, I mean your parents.
5. A recurring issue throughout the whole summer...
Enough said.
6. Memorial Day Weekend to Independence Day:
Ideally...
7. In July: When you just want a break
You need me time. Remember the good days? When you were at college and had no one to answer to? Now, all you want to do is sleep but everyone wants you to do stuff.
8. Still, July but you want a BAE + a Tan + Strong Instagram Game... but none of that happens
Summer is supposed to be easy, but reality is hard to face.
9. When August finally comes around...
You want to live in paradise but you also want to go back to school. Remember when I said emotional rollercoaster?
10. It's your last week...
You are ready to leave and fall back into the trap that is college.
Just one more year until you exchange "HAGS" again!!!
