For those traveling abroad or domestic this summer, here are a few friendly tips to make your traveling life easier than ever before:
Maps
After setting your route, turn off data for “Maps”
Using maps takes up large amounts of data. Because routes are pre-downloaded through the app, there is no need for you keep data on after hitting “start”.
TIP: The one thing to remember is that if you get off your route, Maps will not be able to reroute you and you will need to turn your data back on.
Use Offline Maps
The "OK Maps" trick: If you want to save a map of a city or town without using data, type in the city so that it is loaded on the screen, then type into the search bar “OK Maps” in order to save the offline map.
This is great for traveling abroad or when you need a map of an entire city layout.
Documents
Save it right now. Take photos of your passport, train passes, and itinerary. You can save these to iBooks. Anything that you can download, like plane tickets can be saved to Passbook. Some companies in Europe such as Ryanair do not provide printing services so having a ticket downloaded could save you from a hefty fee.
Money
Skip the money converter stations and go for the ATMs. Talk to your bank prior to going abroad about their policies on exchanging money once you get back. Without a doubt, their charge will be much smaller than that at an airport if you have left over currencies.
Storage
No Place to store your things while adventuring in the city? Won't be able to drive back to your hotel a city away or far from the airport? Go to any hotel close to the airport or wherever you will be headed after that day, and ask to have your things stored. They won't ask for a room key because most hotels provide storage for customers after they have already checked out.
Buying Flights
Use a private browser
You will be upcharged if the website recognizes that you are a revisiting customer of their page. Keep your cost down by staying incognito.
Best times to purchase & plan flights

The Flight
The three-bag trick.
Because you’re allowed only two carry-ons and most standard pack sizes are too large when the top compartment is full, put a carry-on size bag in the top compartment of your pack, then take it out when you get to your seat on the plane and put it under the seat while holding your smaller purse-size carry-on.
Packing
Pack your necklaces in pill containers
Roll your delicate jewelry using tissue paper
Roll everything
Buy a quick dry towel, not only will it save space, it will also save you from having a potentially musky smelling suitcase if you can't afford to throw it away after use
Fill your shoes with socks to use all available space, especially if you pack rain boots
Save money. Save time. Adventure on. Safe travels.
