After watching every episode of "Grey's Anatomy," I have to say it really taught me a few life lessons.
1. Life is short.
No matter if you can't stand the person, or if you are completely devoted to them, their time will come. So, live every day like it's your/their last. If there is one things Grey's has taught me, this has to be number 1. From Lexie, Mark, and Derek.
2. Sometimes all you need is a 30 Second Dance Party.
Let's face it, everyone needs a friendship like Yang and Grey. I can not tell you how many dance parties I have had. When things get frustrating, or if your are celebrating. 30 second dance parties are for all emotions.
3. It's okay to be "Dark and Twisty".
Meredith may not know it, but she is secretly my person. Dark and Twisty is my way at life.
4. Secrets always find their way out into the open.
Just take Addison and Derek for example. No matter how hard Derek tried to hide it. Addison still had a way to "ruin" his life.
5. Expect The Unexpected.
Every episode I started, I never knew if I was going to cry, or laugh, or be sad. Or all of the above at the same time.
6. Don't hide the truth from someone. Everyone deserves the truth.
Derek should have told Meredith about Addison from the beginning.
7. Even if you are afraid, you can do whatever you set your mind to.
As Richard once said, "It's good to be scared. It means you still have something to lose." Can you imagine how all the interns feel on the first day? Especially with Richards famous speak.
8. Give everyone a fighting chance.
Maggie, she deserved a chance. Even if Meredith didn't want to give it to her.
9. No matter how hard you try, you are not and never will be perfect.
Just look at all the relationships throughout the show. You see all of the breakups and makeups. April and Jackson are a perfect example of this.
10. If you love someone, tell them. Don't wait until it is too late.
Seriously guys, Mark and Lexie. The end of Season 9 broke my heart into pieces.
11. Everybody makes mistakes.
Yes, even Derek Shepard made mistakes. He also makes a point about this in one of the episodes by stating that he is only human.
12. It will work out.
The whole process with trying to get Zola really touched my heart. Derek and Meredith tired to hard to get her, all thanks to Alex.
13. The pain you are feeling will go away in due time.
Everyone feels pain. And, if there is one thing Grey's taught me it was pain will go away eventually. It will not be easy, and you will not necessarily forget. But the aching pain will dull.
