Good evening! It is October!! Do you know what that means?

It's Halloween time!

'Tis the season to get funkayyyyy. Anyway, Halloween is the month where you can let your freak flag fly. If you like bats, this is the month for you. If you have a strange obsession with pumpkins, it's your time to shine.

If you like skulls and the dead, that's kinda odd, but it's acceptable this month. This is the month where I can plaster my home in sparkly pumpkins, leaves and ghosts; and people are not allowed to look at me weird.

It's fall.

I will keep my sparkly pumpkins up until after thanksgiving, and then put my Christmas tree up. This is also the month where you can dress up with bat earrings, wear purple eye shadow, and not get looked at weirdly.

One of my other favorites is the puns! You can dress up as your favorite jokes. So, I put together some of my favorite punny costumes for this lovely Halloween.

1. Holy Cow!

All you need for this is a shirt with spots, a painted on nose, and a halo! Funny and great for any Halloween party!

2. Cereal Killer.

Is it the 31st, and did you just finish a box of cereal? Sounds like you just made a Halloween costume!

3. Reigning Cats & Dogs.

Do you remember that episode on New Girl where Shelby had the reigning cats & dogs and no one got it? Well, she did the hard work, and now it's primed and ready for you to wear it this year! Just get a few stuffed cats & dogs, a cape and a tiara!

4. Smart Cookie!

If you've got an old cap and gown sitting in your closet, put it to use one more time, and make a giant cookie. Now, you're a smart cookie!

5. Spice Girls.

I'll tell ya what I want, what I really really want. I want a cute costume!

6. Holy Guacamole.

Just like the holy cow, just wear a green shirt, make an avocado pit, and recycle your halo.

7. Social Butterfly.

We all know you're already not shy, so just find some butterfly wings, and print out the Facebook, Insta and Twitter icons!

8. Ceiling fan.

This is super simple, just get a shirt and some banners that say ceiling.

9. Chick Magnet.

You know that shirt all the guys in fourth grade had that said "chick magnet" and everyone was like "I don't get it?" Well, we are older now, and puns are in!

10. Dust Bunny.

Just wear something white, bring a duster, and some bunny ears. It'll be great!

11. Maroon 5.

Are you freaking out about finding a costume last minute? Just find your favorite maroon shirt, and write 5 on a piece of paper. Boom! You're costumed.

12. Deviled Eggs.

Some devil horns, and an egg costume. Sounds easy enough.

13. Pig In a Blanket.

Wear pink and wrap yourself in a blanket. Honestly, I'm a piggy in a blanket anytime I wrap myself in a blanket.

Just remember, you can be whatever you want. Why not be something hilarious?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
