Sometimes, real life gets hard. It can be boring, chaotic or just plain difficult. That's when many people turn to video games in order to live out some of their most deep seated desires. Personally, I enjoy building my own town in "Animal Crossing: New Leaf." In this game, you're the mayor and you get to call the shots. From setting ordinances to building public works projects, this game has everything you could ever want to do and then some. Here are 13 things that happen in this game that I wish could happen in real life:

1. You get a cute puppy assistant named Isabelle.

When life gets hectic, sometimes you just need a little help from a little canine secretary. If anthropomorphic animals was what you were searching for, this is where you will find it.

2. An old sailor turtle flirts with you in a creepy, yet endearing, way.

He's been in every single installment of this game for a reason.

3. People aren't afraid to show their feelings.

Or maybe that's just Kapp'n.

4. People listen to you respectfully when you play the harpsichord.

Don't you hate it when IRL people say hurtful things when you're just trying to practice for your upcoming harpsichord recital?

5. And then they clap for you after your magnificent performance.

Your art deserves recognition and all these villagers really appreciate you because they're programmed to you are a fantastic mayor.

6. You can actually make a living off of fishing and bug hunting.

You can also privately enjoy all the puns this game throws at you without any fear of judgment.

7. You can manipulate villagers to say anything you can imagine.

(Well, you can, as long as you don't input any recognizable profanity.)

8. You can hit people you don't like in the head with a bug net without any repercussions.

This is honestly so cathartic.

9. Money rocks exist.

Now that is the face of true happiness.

10. You can visit a tropical island any time you want.

Break out the sunscreen, because here, it's summer all year long!

11. You can find four fossils every day and sell them to make bank.

Remember: if it's been dead for millions of years, it's valuable! Think how much you'll be worth after a few hundreds of thousands of years of decomposition.

12. Gem rocks exist.

Rocks with rocks.

13. You can actually afford your house.

You can't accomplish this without a bit of fishing, digging, bug catching and luck, however.

So the next time that you catch yourself thinking, "Man, I really wish I could just get away, create my own town and manipulate the lives of up to 10 villagers," just remember "Animal Crossing: New Leaf."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
