Halloween is coming up and we all know what that means.... lots of frat parties. It's pretty much guaranteed that there will be at least three during Halloween weekend, so it's best you prepare ahead of time.

Half the issue with dressing up for Halloween in college is finding a costume that's age appropriate, cheap, on the brink of sexy but not slutty. I've come up with a few costume ideas that are affordable and versatile, as well as cute and funny.

Here are some pieces that can transformed into almost any costume. Perk: There's a 90% chance you already have these in your closet!

Black leotard:

Your options for a solid black leo are endless, honestly... The easiest options in my option are Minnie Mouse, the Black Swan, Sandy from Grease, or Cat Woman.

For Minnie Mouse, all you need is a red skirt, short white gloves, and maybe dig up your old pair of Minnie ears from Disney World circa 2003.

For the Black Swan, ask your dancer friends if they have a black tutu. Then just copy her face paint from the movie and you're set.

Sandy is an iconic role but she's so easy to copy. Get a pair of black pleather pants (or just some leggings), bring out your red lipstick and your thin curling rod. A leather jacket and red sandals will complete the look.

Cat Woman's costume, or just a cat in general, would use the same pants you use for Sandy. Get a cat mask or some ears and you're set!

White button down:

If you don't have one, I promise your mom does! You can be Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction, Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family, or Tom Cruise in Risky Business.

To be Mia Wallace, you need a short black wig and a cigarette (preferably fake). Keep your shirt unbuttoned and wear a black brallette or corset under it. Black pants or a black skirt are needed as well.

I went as Wednesday Addams last year and it was the easiest costume! Put a black dress on over your button down and braid your hair into pigtails. Simple.

Risky Business only required the button down, some boxer shorts, crew socks, and a pair of Ray-Bans.

Pink leather jacket:

You might be a little less likely to own a pink leather jacket, but if you can get your hands on one, you're costume options are to be a Pink Lady from Grease, Barbie, or Elle Woods from Legally Blonde.

For the Pink Lady costume, take everything from Sandy's costume and just put the pink jacket over it.

For Barbie, just wear a ton of pink... find a long blonde wig and some pink heels. Maybe even go with your boyfriend and have him dress up as Ken!

Elle Woods would be practically the same costume as Barbie, but bring Bruser in your handbag.

Overalls:

I know you all still have a pair from when they were in style in the late 90's. Luckily they're back in style so if you don't have a pair, almost every store in the mall does. Use overalls for costumes such as Mario, a Minion from Despicable Me, or a scare crow.

Mario is a gaming classic, so there's no doubt everyone would know who you are! You need a red hat and a red t-shirt. If you have time, Print out the Mario emblem and glue it onto your hat. recruit Luigi if you want to dress up with a friend. Wear short overalls if you want to make it cute.

To be a Minion, you'll need a yellow shirt, yellow tights (if you want to go all out), and a pair of goggles. It can be really funny if you do this with a big group of friends!

A scare crow costume can turn out a lot cuter than it sounds. Wear a flannel under your overalls and find a straw hat. Stuff some straw or hay into your pockets and wear an old pair of boots to complete the look. Pinterest has tons of scare crow make up ideas!

Happy Halloween!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
