I've been gluten free before it was cool. When I first found out that I had to go on a gluten free diet, all the food was gross. However, over the past 6 years, I applaud the gluten free food industry for amping up its game. There are now tons of edible food options for people that have celiac, like me, people who are gluten-intolerant, and people who just want to be hip. But trust me, most of these amazing gluten-free options aren't going to help you trim your waistline, so be cautious.
1. Glutino Chocolate Covered Pretzels
These have been out since my beginning gluten free days. These are my all-time favorite. I advise anyone who is just starting out on a gluten free diet to try these because you'll soon find out that it's really not so bad after all.
2. Bisquick Pancakes (with chocolate chips of course)
These are another tried and true gluten-free favorite. Listen up y'all: These gluten free pancakes are better than pancakes that aren't gluten free. They actually taste like funnel cake. I'm super weird and just add water to them, but if you want them to taste better, you can add the eggs and oil that it recommends. Don't skimp on the chocolate chips though. You need to experience this at its best.
3. Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Cookies
They're slightly crumbly but totally delicious.
4. Immaculate Double Chocolate Cookies
I have no words. If I ate these as much as I craved them, I'd be 400 lbs heavier.
5. Van's Lots of Everything Crackers
I discovered these a few weeks ago at Publix, and they are the bomb. They are sort of like chips, sort of like crackers, but amazing all the same.
6. Pillsbury Chocolate Fudge Premium Brownies
Just like pancakes, these gluten free brownies are better than regular ones. Most gluten free brownies are better than regular ones though. You really can't go wrong with brownies. Actually, I take that back, gluten free brownies can definitely take a wrong turn, so as a beginner, stick with a mix.
7. Lance Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers
These crackers are my favorite snack. I am obsessed.
8. Goodie Girl Cookies Mint Slims
What's the worst thing about having celiac or gluten intolerance? The limited Girl Scout Cookie options. Crisis averted though. These Mint Slims taste exactly like Thin Mints.
9. Glutino Original Crackers
These are just a staple.
10. Great Value Cocoa Sandwich Cookies
Glutino makes great gluten free "oreo" cookies, but Great Value makes them cheaper. If you're gluten free, then you know you're grocery bill is already through the roof, so I'm helping y'all out with a pro tip. They crumble a little more than Glutino's, but they are still delicious. I actually prefer them.
11. Udi's Peanut Butter Coconut Soft Baked Cookies
These are so unhealthy but so amazing. I never allow myself to buy these because I'll eat them all in one sitting, but these are my favorite gluten free boxed cookies.
12. Banza Chickpea Pasta
This is finally a healthier option. This is super high in protein and low in calories. I make this for dinner all the time. It's incredible. I can't even tell that it's gluten free.
13. Domino's Gluten Free Pizza
Pizza is a struggle for all of us gluten free people. Luckily, Domino's actually makes wonderful gluten free pizza. I can't say the same thing for every pizza chain. Domino's has mastered this recipe and I'm in love.
Eating gluten free is definitely not easy, but hopefully, you'll enjoy a few of my personal favorites.
