June is national pride month! To celebrate such a wonderful addition to our year, I thought we could take some time to appreciate the bisexual community. Too often, I find people are unaccepting and unwilling to accept that bisexuality, pansexuality, asexuality and many other sexualities exist. Biphobia has become too overwhelming in day to day life. I decided to take it upon myself to try to shine through all of that with a list of bisexual celebrities and their quotes about being openly sexual under all of the media pressure. These 13 celebrities spoke out in hopes of proving that bisexuality is real and normal for a great deal of people in this country.

1. Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne is a gorgeous Victoria's Secret Angel who is very open about dating people of both genders. Currently, Delevingne is dating female musician, St Vincent, whose real name is Annie Clark. She talks about her love for her girlfriend to the New York Times, after defending her own sexuality. After a suggestive article title questioned the reality of her sexuality, she told the Times, "My sexuality is not a phase. I am who I am."

2. Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore, star of "50 First Dates", "E.T." and "Never Been Kissed" stated in a 2007 interview that she has always considered herself bisexual. Barrymore is currently in the middle of her third divorce, and plans on taking some time to focus on herself and her two daughters.

3. Andy Dick

This one may come as a shock to many of you, but presumably gay actor Andy Dick is actually bisexual. He states in a 2009 interview that he doesn't feel like he belongs in either straight or gay communities. Dismissing comments from both groups pushing him to be strictly gay, he tells Daily News, "I'm bi, my love knows no gender."

4. Angelina Jolie

Known for her acting skills and her incredible beauty, Angelina Jolie has stolen the hearts of many. One of the first celebrities to mention bisexuality, Jolie has been very open about her sexuality since before 2000. In an interview with Elle magazine, she states that she loves people not for their gender but for their soul. Her being so open about it has made huge progress is normalizing such a common thing.

5. Billy Joe Armstrong

Over 20 Years ago, Billy Joe Armstrong, frontman of punk-rock band Green Day, came out in an interview with The Advocate. Their album "Dookie" was released around the same time and featured many of Armstrong's personal struggles with his sexuality. The songs "Coming Clean" and "Basket Case" both touched on the grey areas of questioning yourself and your sexuality as a whole. In a more recent interview with Out magazine, he talks about how some of his fans are unaccepting of him and says, "The fact that its an issue is kind of phobic within itself. At some point, you gotta think, this should be something that's just accepted."

6. Carrie Brownstein

Carrie Brownstein is an actress, producer and writer-- she does it all! Known widely for her show "Portlandia"; she wants to be known for her achievements-- not her sexuality. She told The Advocate that she is unashamed of her queer identity, but doesn't want it to describe her work.

7. Fergie

Stacy Ferguson, better known as Fergie, stole all of our hearts with her song "My Humps" back in 2005. In an interview with The Advocate, Fergie claims that she has always been very open about her sexuality. She also addresses a very important issue in the queer community; she states, "But just because I enjoy women doesn't mean I'm allowed to have affairs in my relationship." She shuts down the common misconception that cheating is only with the opposite sex.

8. Alan Cumming

Alan Cumming; we all know him from something, whether that be "The Good Wife", "X2", or "Spy Kids". Alan has been openly queer for years. He is currently married to a man, and nobody questioned it. But after being presumed as gay, he spoke up; "I’m with a man, but I haven’t closed myself off to the fact that I’m still sexually attracted to women." People are quick to make assumptions about people they don't know, but Alan cleared the air on that one.

9. Halsey

If you have tuned into the radio at any point in the past 6 months, chances are you have heard the song "New Americana" by Halsey. She is quickly taking the nation by storm with her colorful hair and even more colorful music. As an artist she has never been afraid to speak up about issues. She did an interview earlier this year about her sexuality and her mental illness. At the end of the article she tells them that her motive is to normalize homosexuality instead of hyper-sexualize it like many viewers have done with her video "Ghost".

10. Anna Paquin

"True Blood" star, Anna Paquin, made her public sexuality announcement during Pride two years ago. Since then, she has been quoted talking about bisexuality and even explaining bisexuality many times. Anna is happily married to fellow "True Blood" star Stephen Moyer, but that doesn't stop her from educating us on what it means to be bisexual.

11. Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley is huge in the film industry right now. After major success from "The Fault In Our Stars", Woodley continues taking on the lead role as Tris in the "Divergent" series. She spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about her career and how she got to where she is, and commented about her sexuality not seeing gender. She says that she falls in love with people, not their sex.

12. Vanessa Carlton

In 2010, Vanessa Carlton headlined a Pride event in Nashville. During her set, she told her audience, "I've never said this before, but I am a proud bisexual woman." She didn't expect the positive feedback she received. She tells Huffington Post, "I wanted them to know I understood."

13. Mara Wilson

That's right everybody, Matilda has just come out as bisexual. After the Orlando shootings this past week, Mara Wilson tweeted a thread of tweets about the hate crime that led to her revealing her own sexuality for the first time. As happens on twitter, she got almost immediately shamed for it, but that didn't stop her. She came back with a tweet saying, "I *used* to identify as mostly straight. I've embraced the Bi/Queer label lately."

I have a high level of respect for any individual that uses their platform or media access to create an awareness for anything. This list is of course not a complete list of bisexual celebrities. The people on this list, and many others who are not associated with bisexuality, teach younger audiences that they should feel comfortable with whoever they are. Sexuality, gender, race; nothing should define you as a person besides you. It is so wonderful that we have these icons to look up to and connect with. They are just normal people, but somehow they can help us feel better about being ourselves. That is beautiful.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
