Stressed at this point has just become a part of my personality. I spend the majority of my time feeling stressed about something that I need to accomplish. I have a great deal of activities and responsibilities on my to-do list every week. For example, I am a full-time college student that commutes an hour to and from, four days a week. I also work at least 40 hours a week as an assistant manager for Papa John's. I teach children's church and help my grandfather mow lawns. On top of that, I try to have a social life with my fiance and family. My friends and family always tell me that I do too much and I should slow down, but I really enjoy doing all of those things. It's just that sometimes in the process I get a little overloaded and overwhelmed. I have found that these 12 activities really help me stay less stressed out.
1. Plan
Keep a planner and make sure you don't schedule too many additional activities in the same week. Lay out all of your assignments in the beginning of the year. It becomes so much more manageable.
2. Sleep
I can definitely notice the difference when I don't get enough sleep. I am irritable and less successful when I am trying to accomplish tasks.
3. Meet up with a friend to just hang out
When I start feeling stressed there is nothing better than me going to see one of my best friends to talk and vent.
4. Watch a funny movie
This movie is pretty funny, I like a lot of Adam Sandler's movies. Any movie that gets you to laugh helps relieve some stress.
5. Take a bath
Baths are really relaxing because you get a few moments to yourself.
6. Exercise
Exercise makes me feel good and I get all those endorphins!
7.Get a pedicure
Pedicures feel great! They massage your feet and make you feel pretty.
8. Get your hair done
Looking good can make you feel good and rejuvenate the motivation to finish your tasks.
9. Go for a walk
Go for a walk and appreciate all the nature around you.
10. Play with some puppies
You can always go to a local shelter or a friend's house and play with their puppies. Puppies are so cute that you'll forget about everything that is stressing you out.
11. Listen to some music by The Piano Guys
Their music is beautiful and relaxing.
12. Change your outlook
Think of every step as progress and not about how much you have left to do. It really helps to take your progress day by day than to worry about what isn't finished.
All of these help me be less stressed and I hope they will help you as well.
