12 Ways To Have The Best Summer Of Your Life

Summer can be the best time of the year. Most people are on vacation and can take the time to venture out. Summer means loud music, catching up with old friends, and setting goals for a new beginning. Though many people take different approaches to how to live it up on summer break, there are a few things that can help make it the best summer of your life!

1. Do something new that scares you.

We all have those things that we have wanted to do for quite some time, yet we always find an excuse not to. Whether its performing in a show, asking for that promotion, or traveling it is the time to do it. You cannot keep waiting for a tomorrow when there is a today. You may not regret failure, but you will regret never trying .

2. Be honest with yourself and those around you.

It is very simple that you will not find happiness until you find truth. Allow yourself to be honest with yourself in terms of what you want and the changes you need to make in your life. Be honest with those around you because nothing is more admirable than integrity. Lastly only accept the truth from others because, you cant live it up with toxic words around you.

3. Push your physical limits.

It is the prime time to push yourself physically. start wherever you feel comfortable. Take a walk, run your first 5K, or take a scenic hike. You wont regret accomplishing something you have never done before. It may not be pretty but it will be worth it.

4. Take a break from your phone.

I admit phones are important. They are the lifelines to people who cannot be with you. They are essential for emergencies and sometimes for social interaction. However, it is okay to decide to put your phone up for a couple of hours to fully be in what is happening right in front of you.

5. Cook one meal from scratch.

Look up something you have always wanted to try, go buy the groceries, and make a meal. Share the meal with loved ones. This is an educational opportunity, a loving opportunity, and a yummy opportunity.

6. Volunteer to do something.

Help people out! Even if it your sibling or your parent its always a good thing to use some of your time to help those around you or even those far away. Just sacrificing your time is such a sincere and meaningful gift.

7. Spend a whole day doing absolutely nothing.

That's right spend a whole day doing nothing productive. Do not get dressed or anything, just chill out and be as lazy as you want to be. Days like these can be really reflective and can help you recharge.

8. Sing the karaoke version of your favorite song.

Whether you are in the car, a party, or a karaoke place you should always cease the opportunity to sing your favorite song at the top of your lungs. This may sound like a small thing but it can make a huge difference.

9. Meet new people.

Keep your old friends but do not be afraid to meet new people. Meeting new people does not have to be a huge commitment. It can actually make your life easier when you start to recognize those around you.

10. Find a book to fall in love with.

Books are great intellectual adventures. Find a book that appeals to you and dive in expecting to fall in love and grow as a person.

11. Go to a concert or game where you can be a crazy fan.

Allow yourself to freak out and go crazy about something you love. Go see a band you like, or go watch a game with your favorite team. You will have a blast and it will be a great memory.

12. Stay positive.

Know that only you can make the best summer happen by the way you act and the way you choose to look at life. Try to see everyday as an adventure and challenge yourself. Surround yourself with people who build you up and you wont be able to stop smiling.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
