12 Unforgettable Scenes From Gilmore Girls

In the wake of the confirmed Gilmore Girls revival, there is no better time to reflect back on some of the most unforgettable moments of the original series. No matter what thew new mini series brings, (Luke and Lorelai finally married, perhaps?) these are the scenes that made us fall in love with the characters who inhabited the small New England town of Stars Hallow.

Here are 12 moments that Gilmore Girls fans will always remember.

1. Rory and Jess' First Kiss.

Of all of the events that occurred at Sookie's wedding, the first kiss between Rory and Jess is one we cannot forget. Whether you're team Dean or team Jess, this moment expresses what had been building up since Jess first moved to Stars Hallow.

2. Richard and Emily's major fight.

When Richard and Emily are on the verge of separation, they have a blowout that leads to the above exchange, followed by Emily escaping out the window. In this escape, she manages to lose her skirt and has a confrontation with the cops in the driveway.

3. When Rory accepts her and Dean's break up.

After spending the day trying to pretend that everything is okay, Rory finally gives in to Lorelai's advice and wallows. With a tub of ice cream, pajamas, and pizza, Rory is ready to get over her first real boyfriend.

4. The endless town festivities.

Stars Hallow constantly had festivities dedicated to historical aspects of the town and other quirky celebrations. Whether celebrating the revolutionary war, making the town center into a giant hay barrel maze, auctioning off picnic baskets, having a dance marathon, or holding a convention dedicated to Edgar Allen Poe. There is always something happening that makes us all want to pack our bags and move to an adorable small town in Connecticut.

5. The moment Luke realized he doesn't know how to handle Jess

Luke pushing Jess into the lake was nothing short of the perfect reaction to Jess' rebellion.

6. The Life and Death Brigade camp

In Omnia Paratus! The camp that the Life and Death Brigade make their utilitarian home for the night was magical.

7. You Jump, I Jump Jack

“People can live a hundred years without really living for a minute.”

Logan's influence to be adventurous and jump off of a platform with an umbrella results in what is arguably one of the best moments of the entire show. If this didn't leave you wanting to join the Life and Death Brigade, I don't know what would.

8. Luke and Lorelai's first kiss.

The kiss that we waited four long seasons for. Luke and Lorelai finally lock lips.

9. When Lorelai meets Logan for the first time

After sneaking off from Richard and Emily's ceremony to renew their vows, Logan and Rory are caught in the middle hooking up. Christopher, Lorelai, and Luke all get a unique introduction to Rory's next boyfriend.

10. Lorelai and Rory reuniting after their fight

After months apart, it's impossible to forget when Lorelai and Rory finally make up. The world was just not right when they were apart.

11. Logan's marriage proposal to Rory

When Logan proposes to Rory in front of an entire party, it shocks absolutely everyone.

12. Richard shows his appreciation for Lorelai.

In one of the last scenes of the series, Richard creates a tear-jerking moment by telling Lorelai that it takes a remarkable person to inspire the gathering. Although their relationship is often rocky, and Lorelai did not follow the path intended for her, this scene shows that Richard is in fact incredibly proud of his daughter and what she has accomplished. RIP Edward Herrmann.

The original Gilmore Girls made us laugh, cry, and constantly kept us at the edge of our seats. The Netflix revival is sure to bring an entirely new set of memorable quotes, pop cultural references, and hopefully tie up the loose ends that fans have long been waiting for. Stars Hallow, we are ready to come back.

Oy with the poodles already!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
