12 Undeniable Reasons To Love Rihanna
Rihanna

Robyn Rihanna Fenty, simply known as Rihanna to many and known as the most beautiful person in the world to me, just celebrated her 28th birthday recently. An amazing artist and fashion icon, she inspires so many people to be who they are and not care what others think. Some people bash her for various reasons and all of them stem from jealousy; c'mon, just look at her! Try to find a flaw because I can't, and if you think you can you're wrong and I don't like you.

1. She managed to find success even though her childhood was plagued by her dad's cocaine and alcohol addiction.

It tore her family apart, but she still loves them more than anything. Rihanna is all about the three F's: family, friends and fans.

2. She was an army cadet during her high school/teenage years and Shontelle, known for her hits "T-Shirt" and "Impossible," was her drill sergeant.

No, it's not just from the movie Battleship, that's her on the right. How much more badass can she get honestly? Keep reading and you'll see.

3. The whole reason she's famous (and thank God for that), her music career.

It started with her debut hit single “Pon de Replay” in 2005, and then she blew up, even though nobody understood what she was saying because it was Barbadian language, broken English. Her music isn’t simply pop or hip-hop, it has a reggae twist due to her background and it’s unique. Who else can go from emotional songs like “Unfaithful” and “We All Want Love” to “B*tch Better Have My Money?”

4. She doesn't care what you think.

5. Her tattoos.

She has 21 tattoos and they are all perfect for her. By far the best one is her hand tattoo.

6. Have you seen her in the infamous all crystal Swarovski dress?

Or her outfit/costume at the Barbados Carnival for Kadooment Day?

No caption necessary. See for yourself.

7. She’s one of the few people who can pull off double denim.

This is only one outfit and she can pull them all off, trust me.

8. She can also pull off any hairstyle and color.

Whether it’s a pixie, short with bangs, long and straight, natural or black, brown, blonde, red or grey, she looks amazing. It could be vomit green or mustard yellow and she’d still look good.

9. She said if she could be anyone else, she would be Blue Ivy.

Who wouldn’t want Beyonce as their mother? People always compare the two women, but they don’t let it get between their friendship.

10. She doesn’t need a man.

Regardless of the Chris Brown situation, Rihanna is independent and strong and has come so far from her disastrous relationships. She deserves no less than a prince or a king.

11. As badass as she is, she still has a soft side.

During a sit-down interview with Kanye West, she discussed that people misconceive her and only see the tough, aggressive side of her, but all women have a vulnerability, including her. She doesn’t like to necessarily address this side of tears and sadness, because who wants to be vulnerable? The public has seen her at weak points, but she doesn’t let it stop her.

12. She has a legitimate holiday in her honor. Rihanna Day is on Feb. 22 in her native Barbados, two days after her birthday.

This should be a universal holiday, in my opinion.

All hail Queen Ri.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
