Every year Stephenville, Texas hosts a five-day-mega celebration of Texas music. Larry Joe Taylor’s Texas Music Festival brings fans together for some of the best country music around. Along with camping, eating, drinking and general Texas friendliness. Larry Joe Taylor Music Festival is for sure one of the most exciting and most interesting events of the year.
1. Drink a lot of water leading up to LJT. Just go ahead and start now, before it is too late. You will regret it if you don’t.
2. Always use the buddy system! Memorize someone’s number and take someone everywhere whether you are going to the bathroom or to get food.
3. Don’t drink and drive. There is a Jesus Bus for a reason. But along with the Jesus Bus, there is a taxi service and other ways of transportation to get to and from.
4. Should you eat the corn? Yes, eat everything. Corn, corn dogs, gator wings. Eat it all.
5. Bring extra socks, a toothbrush, and deodorant. Think about every other person you will be around. No one wants to smell you, especially because everyone will be so close together and probably sweaty.
6. If you could barely afford your ticket, bring munchie food. Lunchables are the perfect snack. You can put them in your cooler without anything getting wet and when you get hungry just pull it out, sit down and eat.
7. Don’t bring a nice cooler. You most likely won’t have a cooler after LJT. Bring a cooler you can stand on preferably. Wheels wouldn't be a bad idea as well. Pitch in and get one with a friend!
8. If you are debating on a two-day pass or five-day pass, just go ahead and buy the five-day pass. You won’t regret it, I promise!
9. Fanny pack? Yes, smartest idea ever. Holds your phone, portable charger, money and anything else you will want to carry around.
10. Shoes? Do not wear open-toed shoes. Buy rain boots, because it will most likely rain one of the days during LJT.
11. Every man for themselves. No one is going to take care of you this week. If you are down, pick yourself up and carry on like nothing happened at all.
12. Remember to have fun! This is supposed to be a drama free week. Enjoy every second of it because Larry Joe Taylor Music Fest only happens once a year.
