12 Times Marie From 'The Aristocats' Was Your Spirit Animal

As a young girl, sitting in front of the TV screen as I cuddled up to my blankie with a bowl of cheerio's by my side, I dreamed of being a princess, having a Disney movie modeled after my life. But, before the classic princesses came along, "Lady and the Tramp," "Fox and the Hound," "Bambi," "Dumbo," and "The Aristocats" consumed all of my attention. Each animated movie had their scary moments weaved in to the predictable love story that was to flourish as soon as the storyline began. As my four-year-old self intently started at the glowing screen in front of me, I came to love each movie individually. "The Aristocats" topped all others, however, because I wanted to be Marie. The perfectly balanced attitude of classy and sassy characterized the white puff-ball as she lavishly lived with her equally fabulous mother and stereotypical rowdy brothers. Still now, I find myself wishing I had the personality that Marie emits.

1. When that cute boy that sits across from you in class just happens to look your way after several minutes of you staring at the side of his face and you sit there batting your eyelashes, internally repeating "Please love me. Please love me."

2. Is chivalry dead? I don't know, why don't you ask the boy who was walking in front of me and did not hold the door open, even though he clearly saw me.

3. When you hear an absolutely ridiculous and unthoughtful comment spill out of someone's mouth and all you can think is "Did you really just say that?" but your passive aggressive eye roll is the only response you give as they walk away.

4. After a long and exhausting day, there is nothing better than cocooning yourself in the fluffy sheets you've been dreaming about since the moment you got out of bed.

5. Watching Twitter fights and subtweets incessantly crowd your dash while you sit in calming surroundings with a bowl of popcorn is quite the laugh. As you admire the cattiness from afar, you can't wait to see how things will blow completely out of proportion - with the entire world watching.

6. When you are watching any kind of rom-com with your best friends.

7. When someone says something insulting but you just have to put in the last word, make your stance with a little bit of sass and retort your best witty comeback.

8. When you have a really bad hair day, so you put in a hair accessory to try to mask it, and even that doesn't go well.

9. When none of your friends are able to hang out or go anywhere so you are just stuck inside, forced to participate in family bonding time.

10. When your ex walks by you in public and you just have to shove it in their face that your life is going so much better than it was while you guys were together. Yes, i've gotten prettier and more fit...it's called a revenge body.

11. When you look good, you feel good. With your sass on fully display, you prance around, walking with complete attitude in your strut and holding your chin high.

12. When you have a really catchy song stuck in your head and you just can't seem to shake it out, so you just dance around instead.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
