Our relationship with our family is one of the most complicated that we'll have, because no matter how much we will always love them, they are also the ones that can get under our skin the most, that can drive us crazy more than anyone else. During the holiday season, when we find ourselves in the presence of multitudes of loved ones, it is often a challenge to remember how we are related to these people or what it is that makes us love them so much. Regardless of the chaos, we continue to love our family no matter what. However, in the midst of family turmoil, here are 12 thoughts everyone has during holiday family dinner.

1. Where's the wine?

2. I wonder how many casseroles we can fit on one table.

3. Maybe I should just sit at the kids' table... Less drama.

4. Whatever you do, don't bring up politics.

5. At least the food is good.

6. Why do we do this every year?

7. When is dessert?

8. When grandmother starts talking, just smile and nod.

9. So, when are we going to open presents?

10. I need another drink.

11. When is the earliest it's acceptable to leave?

12. Finally it's over. See you people in a year!

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
