46 Thoughts You Have On Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the holiday season, but that means getting through Thanksgiving Day at your grandparents' first. While we all wait for our feast and inhale everything on the table, you have to go through a long day of relatives, appetizers, and the typical conversation starters. Here are thoughts that everyone has on Thanksgiving:

1. “Yes, Thanksgiving is here! Should I eat breakfast, or should I wait until I get to grandma’s?”

2. “I’ll just have a small breakfast.”

3. “Oooh, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade on TV!”

4. “How many commercials are they going to have?”

5. “Should I wear something nice that compliments me? Or something baggy so no one sees my food baby later?”

6. “Oh great, now I’m going to have to greet everyone as soon as I walk in the door.”

7. “Okay, are we just going in for the hug? Or are we doing a kiss on the cheek too?”

8. “Alright, I went in for the kiss but they didn’t get the memo.”

9. “I think I said hello to everyone here. Now where are the appetizers?”

10. “Let me chew slowly so I don’t look like a pig grabbing a chip every two seconds.”

11. “Oh no, they’re taking out more appetizers. Stomach, you got this.”

12. “Please don’t ask me about school.”

13. “No, I still don’t know what I want to do when I’m older.”

14. “No, I do not have a boyfriend.”

15. “How many people are going to ask me about school? Please stop.”

16. “Maybe if I really focus on this dish in front of me and avoid eye contact, no one will confront me.”

17. “More relatives arrived – time for the awkward hug/kiss that I still don’t know how to do.”

18. “Okay, back to the appetizers.”

19. “I want to take out my phone, but as soon as I do, some adult will complain how we don’t know how to socialize anymore.”

20. “Must. Not. Touch. Phone.”

21. “Starting to feel full and I only had the appetizers.”

22. “Never mind, I’m fine! When’s dinner?”

23. “Okay, I’m bored. Let me ask if they need help setting up.”

24. “I’m hungry.”

25. “FINALLY, dinner is being served. Let me try to be first in line.”

26. “Damn this turkey looks good.”

27. “What the heck are those? Turnips? Radishes?”

28. “I wish that cranberry sauce was jello.”

29. “Okay, where do I sit? Next to the annoying cousin or my drunk aunt?”

30. “Please don’t ask us what we’re thankful for. Please don’t ask us what we’re thankful for.”

31. “Aaaaaand they’re asking what we’re thankful for.”

32. “I’m fourth up. Okay there’s health, family, friends…”

33. “Dammit, all of those are taken now.”

34. “Um, I’m thankful for…my pets?”

35. “Great, now I can inhale everything on my plate.”

36. “Is that my aunt’s fourth glass of wine now?”

37. “I’m gonna go into a quiet room and go into my food coma.”

38. “No one talk to me.”

39. “Stomach, get ready for dessert.”

40. “I’m literally going to puke now.”

41. "Tomorrow I'm gonna go on a diet."

42. "Maybe run a few miles too."

43. “When are we leaving?”

44. “Okay, now it’s time for the awkward goodbyes.”

45. “Alright, now to Black Friday shopping.”

46. "CHRISTMAS SEASON!!"

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
