12 Little Things at Texas A&M That Take Your Breath Away

As stressed out college students, most of us don't have time to go on nature walks or travel to places that take our breath away. We would all love to see the Grand Canyon, but we're too busy staring at the ceiling in Evans Library or the high school hallways of Wehner. Though the things we take pleasure in seeing might not be outdoorsy wonders of the world, they are just as important and just as awe-striking.

I've compiled a list of the top things that I, as a college student consider to be beautiful.

1. An empty table in the library right next to an outlet.

We all know this is a rare sight, especially during prime study hours or dead days.

2. No Line at Starbucks.

Who really wants to spend precious studying time standing in a 30 minute line?

3. A good tree in Academic Plaza to hang your hammock in.

There's only so many trees that are good for hammocking.

4. An A or B on an exam you expected to fail.

This calls for a moment of celebration and a trip to Torchy's.

5. A parking spot close to wherever you need to go.

Parking at A&M really sucks because getting a lot anywhere near your classes is next to impossible.

6. An email declaring that class is cancelled.

This is rare and a cause for excessive jumping up and down and maybe a celebratory dance.

7. A random deposit of cash into your bank account from your parents.

Every little bit helps when you're surviving on PB&J sandwiches 24/7

8. The computer screen when you register for classes and actually get the ones you want.

I don't think this ever happens for anyone regardless of classification.

9. Attractive cadets in Midnights that say howdy.

This needs to happen more often.

10. The first time you walk into your lab and realize that your TA speaks English.

Hallelujah, now I might actually have a chance of passing. #Blessed

11. The first time an Aggie slips their Aggie ring onto their finger.

I actually cried from joy at Ring Day this year... and it wasn't even mine.

And last but not least...

12. The 12th Man standing strong at all Texas A&M sporting events.

Nothing beats this. NOTHING.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
