Attending these things is like going through a right of passage.

12 Things To Attend At Fairfield University

All of these things are pretty hard to explain, so you'll just have to take my word for it and experience them yourselves.

1. Class
This one seems pretty obvious, but you'll surprised with the amount of times you'll skip class. My advice is to not do it unless it's necessary. If you're sick or hungover to the point where you're throwing up, than that's a way different story.

2. Class Reviews
Another pretty obvious thing to go to, but sometimes the walk all the way to your class seem really far. I mean who wants to leave their room, friends or bed? Just do it and get it over with.

3. Day Drinks
Point days are the best days for the following reasons: sunshine, beach, alcohol, friends and the memories you'll create (and will most likely forget).

4. Soccer Games
Two reasons: the boys and it's the best sport in the entire world.

5. Fall Concert
It may seem dumb, but it is a freshman right of passage. You get to listen to music and enjoy the evening no matter what state of mind you have. It's a way to meet new people.

6. Presidential Ball
You get to dress up all snazzy and party. It's always fun to go out looking amazing and prez ball is a pretty good excuse to do so.

7. Oktoberfest
Whether it's raining or a beautiful day, Oktoberfest is one of the best events during the year. It's a way to say goodbye to the warm weather and forget about work for the day.

8. Rugby Games
It's a lot of fun to go and support your friends, especially when the team is amazing. It's a chill way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Also, those boys are some of the funniest people you will ever meet.

9. Midnight Madness
This is something you have to experience. That is all I can say.

10. Sham Jam
Point days haven't been held in months because of the winter. This is the perfect time to go to the point during the day and try to welcome the "warm" weather.

11. Around the World
It's basically like going to the beach, but up in the townhouses. It's another one of the best days during the year.

12. Clam Jam
The experience is different each year. If you get to go, then you are incredibly lucky. It's the way we let loose before finals.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
