Text messages are one of the primary ways we keep in touch with friends and family while away at school. Stories we want to tell, emotions we want to let out...it all happens through texts. If you're lucky like me (ha ha), you're in a group chat (or two), ((or three)). Here are twelve kinds of texts you send while away at school.

1. Hangry

Are you really a college student if you don't live off of pizza?

2. Cat Lady

Just make sure he doesn't meow and alert your RA.

3. Cute Guy Alert

A girl can dream...

4. Netflix Binge

When you get your friends watching a new show, the follow-up is always "OMG what's happening in the episode?"

5. Procrastination

Shopping is the logical next course of action, of course.

6. I gotta vent...

When your best friend says she needs you, you drop everything to be there for her.

7. Snapchat streaks

Friendships have been destroyed over this single text. Snapchat streaks are important, especially while everyone is away at school.

8. Finals (part 1)

Desperation kicks in and you count how many hours until you see your friends. Just me? ...Okay.

Pints and Chick-fil-a are a MUST.

Yay!

Late nights + goofy pictures + sadness = your own emotional movie right at your fingertips!

11. "Mom" to the Rescue

After all the hullaballoo, the "mom" of the group saves the day and calms everyone down by reminding us it's not long before we'll see each other!
