Summer road trips make up some of the best memories. It is a great way to bond with your close friends and family, through an unforgettable experience, and allows you to get your mind off of everyday stress, by enjoying a much needed getaway. Here are some essentials to help you make the best out of your road trip this summer:
1. Yeti rambler
This isn’t your typical water bottle. This stainless steel, sweat free design allows you to stay hydrated during the warm summer months without having to worry about your ice melting instantly from the heat. You will feel very refreshed and satisfied.
2. Headphones
This is a no brainer. Whether you’re traveling with your family or friends, there may be times where all you want to do is sit back, relax and listen to music other than what the rest of the car is listening to (or maybe you want to tune out conversations happening).

3. Summer playlist
A summer playlist is definitely an essential for a road trip. Before leaving for your destination, make a playlist of your favorite songs, so you don’t have to scramble to choose a song in the car. Put that baby on shuffle and enjoy your time with your family/friends!
4. Sunglasses
This is something you simply cannot go without! Sunglasses will not only help protect your eyes from the sun that just so happens to be glaring on your side of the car, but a great way to disguise the homeless look you were going for.
5. Blanket and neck pillow
There’s something about riding in a car for multiple hours at a time, that will make you sleepy. Whether it’s from waking up at the crack of dawn, or sitting in a car all day, a blanket and pillow will be very much needed. With the AC on full blast in the middle of summer, you’ll be thankful you have a blanket to cuddle up with.

6. Car charger
This will be handy for everyone. There is nothing more annoying than a phone that is on low battery! You want to make sure you have battery for the entire duration of your road trip. Whether it’s to take pictures, snapchat your friends, listen to music, or mapquest the trip.
7. Cash
Road trips call for adventure. Make sure you bring extra cash. You never know what you might need it for!

8. Wet wipes
Being stuck in a car all day, you will probably feel the urge to wipe your hands. Especially after stuffing your face with unhealthy snacks.
9. Device to take pictures on
Pictures are the best way to capture memories on a road trip. Don’t feel guilty about loading up your camera roll, or snapchat story, because these are memories you will never be able to get back! Disposable cameras are even fun to take as well because you don’t have to worry about using all your phone battery! When you go to develop the pictures, they will all be a surprise to you!
10. Mapquest
Avoid getting lost! Sure detours are fun, and they are bound to happen, but to avoid stressful circumstances, be prepared for what is ahead of you!
11. Entertainment/things to keep you occupied (magazine, music, cell phone, coloring book, book to read)
It’s never a bad idea to pack extra things to keep you occupied. If you’re on a really long road trip, there may be times where half of the car is taking a nap, but you’re wide awake. A book to read, coloring books, or magazines are all great options to consider!
12. Snacks
Snacks are obviously an essential. Stop at the grocery store before leaving, and buy your favorite snacks! It will keep your stomach from growling at weird times of the day, and tide you over from your next meal! Try to avoid hangry behavior at all costs!
