With Finals week behind me, I have finally had time to think about what music I am listening too. During Finals week, I would pick a random playlist on Spotify and press play. Sometimes classical and sometimes sad, I didn't really hear it so much as just use it to help me keep my study motivation up. As summer break has started, i have compiled a list of 12 songs that I like listening and dancing to. I want to forewarn you that there is no rhyme or reason to these songs, and the randomness is what I enjoy about them all. Here they are:

"Hold Back the River" by James Bay

This song is good for the calm moments in the backyard or the solo car rides. I also have found it helpful for any chore to keep you going at a steady pace.

"Bonfire Heart" by James Blunt

This song is downright inspiring. Every time it starts I think it is the song "Home" by Philip Phillips. Start your adventure off with this song.

"You Give Me Life" by Kyle Smith and Laura Sweeney

"You Give Me Life" is a slower paced song. It is a hopeful song about God's faithfulness and care. Listen to this song when the fear of the future gets to you.

"Lost Boy" by Ruth B

I started cracking up when I heard this song. Two of my best friends at Wheaton and have a group text called "The Lost Girlz" and I thought it ironic. But also, this song is beautiful and I enjoy that it tells a story.

"Stressed Out" by Twenty One Pilots

I wish I had heard this song before I left school, but alas, I was to busy to try and keep up with popular music. I love when it says, "Wake up you need to make money" and "Now I'm stressed OOOOUUUUUTTTT". Listen to this song when you want to celebrate the end of the semester and summer.

"What About Everything?" By Carbon Leaf

This was actually the song of the semester for me and I first heard it in Lab on Tuesday Afternoons. Listen to this when you want to put the world back in perspective.

"Twist and Shout" by The Beatles

A couple weeks before the end of the semester, I heard my RA playing "Here Come's the Sun" by the Beatles on the guitar and it revived my interest in The Beatles. Listen to this when you want to dance.

"Somebody to Love" by Queen

The sole reason that this song is on my playlist is because of the Honda commercial with singing sheep and they are playing this song. Watch the commercial and then listen to this song.

"Shepherd (Live)" by Amanda Cook

This song has been one that I have loved all semester. My favorite line is "Good Shepherd of my soul, take my hand and lead me on."

"Brand New" by Ben Rector

This is a summertime song. When you finish your last final and you have life outside of school and studying ahead of you. You feel like a brand new person.

"Geronimo" by Sheppard

This song makes you want to run out and into a creek and run through a waterfall. Grab some friends, find a destination, and jump into your adventure.

"Celebrate" by Rend Collective

This is a celebration song. When you have something to celebrate put this song on and dance it out.

"The Sound of Sunshine" by Michael Franti and Spearhead

I found this song while in SAMS coffee shop on Wheaton's Campus and asked Siri what song it was and freaked out my friend by loudly exclaiming to nothing "What song is this?" This is the perfect summer and sunshine song.

Summer calls for new tunes and fun times. Use these songs to fuel your adventures, your chores and any moment of your summer. Hopefully you have had time to find new music to listen to and renew your playlist from the same old songs you listened to over and over again during finals week. If not, feel free to use these songs to spark your interest and discover new songs to add to your summer music playlist.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
