Rollercoasters are scary. Not only are they high up you also become concerned about the drops. You think about whether or not your buckle will unbuckle or if the ride will end up breaking down when you’re dangling hundreds of feet from the ground. But one thing you should understand is that roller coasters are FUN. If you ever decide you want to ride a roller coaster or if you already do and don’t know which ones to ride, here are a few you should definitely check out and where these rides are at.
1. CALIFORNIA’S GREAT AMERICA
Gold striker: this wooden rollercoaster is supposed to be one of the fastest wooden rollercoasters in Northern California, and let me tell you, this ride definitely does not disappoint. I have ridden this ride a multitude of times mainly for its intense speeds, the smoothness of the ride, which is ideal considering it is a wooden rollercoaster, and its drops.
Apocalypse: this is yet another wooden roller coaster that will have you wanting to ride it many more times, which is exactly what I did. It’s a little bumpier than most would prefer, but it is so fast that you will be screaming the whole entire time. The entire ride is nothing but fast, sudden drops, sharp turns, and ear piercing screaming.
Full Throttle: THIS RIDE IS EXTREMELY INCREDIBLE, OKAY? TAKE MY WORD FOR IT AND JUST GO.
2. DISNEYLAND
California’s Screamin: Everyone loves a cute little disneyland ride. Well, this one I wouldn’t necessarily call “cute” or “little” considering its height and speed for a roller coaster at Disneyland. This is one of those rides that you just have to ride whenever you decide to take a little trip to Anaheim. It is an extremely fun ride, from its instant rocket like take off in the beginning to its one little loop in the middle, this ride will do nothing but have you want to ride it over and over again.
Space Mountain: This is another rollercoaster that you HAVE to ride no matter what. If you’re in Disneyland, you HAVE to ride this coaster because who knows when you will ever receive that opportunity. Cool, intergalactic music plays in the background, it’s dark, and the inside of the ride is made to look like you are traveling through space at intense speeds. (down below)
3. SEA WORLD
Journey to Atlantis: This ride located in sea world is half water ride and half roller coaster. I went on this ride at a total of at least 10 times because of the steep drop for the water ride portion of the ride and then the sudden reveal of a coaster you get to ride as well once you are elevated to the top of the ride.
4. CALIFORNIA’S UNIVERSAL STUDIOS
The Mummy Ride: Just trust me when I say this is definitely a ride worth riding when at Universal Studios. One, it is indoors. Two, it is dark inside, which makes it the more enjoyable to ride, and there are so many twists, turns, and loops that it adds to the intensity of it all. Not to mention, it travels backwards, as well.
5. ORLANDO’S DISNEYWORLD:
Expedition Everest: this roller coaster is located in the Animal Kingdom portion of Disneyworld, which is an incredibly well structured ride that has you flying forward at a fast pace, as well as backwards once the track comes to an unexpected end.
6. MICHIGAN’S ADVENTURES
Shivering Timbers: this is only the best wooden roller coaster I have personally ever been on. Maybe even best roller coaster by far. If you ever decide to take a trip to the midwest, specifically Michigan, GO ON THIS RIDE. Spoiler alert: you may feel like it you got permanent brain damage because of the ride, especially if you ride it more than two times max.
7. OHIO'S CEDAR POINT
Dragster: this is simply an amazing ride that shoots you forward from 0-120 mph in less than four seconds before going 420 feet up in the air.
8. OHIO'S KINGS ISLAND
The Beast: this is a wooden roller coaster that is unlike any other roller coaster you will ever go on. How? well, you have to ride it to find out.
Now, of course there are a lot more roller coasters that you should ride that I would name, but most of them I don't even remember. These ones though, I know for a fact I will always remember, and if you give these coasters a chance, you will too.
