Labor Day has passed and Oct. 1 is around the corner meaning that fall is at our feet. So many people insist that summer is the best season of them all; maybe because school is out, or maybe because of the beach trips. I can definitely see the pros of summer, but autumn is very obviously the best season.

Of course the cool weather is the biggest factor for fall being the best season, however, there are plenty more reasons as to why fall is the best season.

1. The colorful leaves

Everywhere you look, there is an array of yellow, red, orange and brown leaves covering the ground. On top of the beautiful colors, it feels incredibly satisfying to hear the crunch as you walk over them.

2. It's boot season

I can definitely say a nice pair of boots adds so much to an outfit. Knee-high boots, leggings, and an over-sized sweater is my go-to during the fall.

3. Larger selections of hot drinks

There is a much larger selection of hot drinks around-- including the fabulous Pumpkin Spice Latte.

4. Those big, round, basketball-looking things

Yes, pumpkins! Pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin scones and pumpkin seeds are everywhere. Oh, and carving pumpkins is a must.

5. Knit scarves

Knit scarves are one of my favorite additions to an outfit. I only wish it would be appropriate to wear them during the summer. I, for sure, pull out all of my knit scarves once the cold weather hits.

6. Halloween

Halloween is probably my favorite holiday. There are kids running around in all kinds of costumes, candy is being continuously stocked in stores, and horror movie marathons on TV!

7. Thanksgiving is soon

Who doesn't want a ton of food in front of them all at once?

8. Haunted Houses

Even though haunted houses terrify me, I love them. There is definitely an adrenaline rush when walking through a dark house with random noises and people jumping out at you.

9. Sweet cinnamon scents

Once fall hits, there are tons of fall-inspired scents on the market. Whether that be in candles, body washes or lotions, they smell heavenly.

10. More sleep...possibly

Daylight Savings Time is here when fall comes, meaning, the time falls back an hour. Maybe you can take advantage of that extra hour of sleep on Nov. 6!

11. State fairs

The state fair comes with a variety of rides, fried food and carnival games. It is basically a huge party!

12. SWEATER WEATHER

My absolute favorite part of fall-- SWEATER WEATHER! Sweaters are the most comfortable items in my closet and I pretty much live in them during the fall time.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
