With being a young adult, everyone just assumes you love your phone and couldn't live without texting. Don't get me wrong, texting can be very useful, but not everyone necessarily loves it. Here are some reasons why texting isn't all that great.
1. It takes forever to type out a message.
No matter what the message is, its going to take forever.
2. Even hearing the word "group message" makes you cringe.
*buzz* *buzz* *buzz* *buzz* *buzz* *buzz* *buzz* *buzz* *buzz* *buzz*
3. You can't tell people's tone of voice.
Are they being serious? Sarcastic? Flirty?
4. You over analyze everything about the message.
5. It distracts you from other people.
The only time this is okay is when you're with people you don't like.
6. Read receipts are the spawn of Satan.
Accidentally open a text you were trying to ignore? Well you gotta reply now.
7. You can accidentally send a message to the wrong person.
8. The "texting rules."
9. So. Many. Emojis.
Let's just make this one stop. Please.
10. It's making our grammar horrible.
11. Autocorrect.
Again, spawn of Satan.
12. The typing ellipses that last longer than 5 seconds give you a mini heart-attack.
The greatest moment in the world is when your friends realize just how much you hate texting so they just stop texting you and call you instead. Plus, when you stop texting, you no longer have to worry about running into people and things because of looking at your phone.
