Nowadays, it seems like everyday is some sort of holiday. November is one of those months that has some weird and some super interesting holidays.
November 2nd: Deviled Eggs Day. Certainly, the whole purpose of this day, is to make and eat Deviled Eggs. You can use your favorite recipe, or (hopefully) find a restaurant serving them in recognition of this day.
November 3rd: Men Make Dinner Day. This one is pretty simple. Time to give the women a rest and let the men take over the kitchen!
November 5th: Guy Fawkes Day. This day commemorates the infamous Gunpowder Conspiracy of 1605 in England and was led by Guy Fawkes. The Gunpowder Conspirators were a group of Catholics who sought to take action against the king. They plotted to blow up the British Houses of Parliament. Their plot was uncovered on November 5, 1605. Thirty six barrels of gunpowder were found in the basement of Parliament.
November 6th: Saxophone Day. Adophe Sax, the inventor of the saxophone, was born on this day in 1814. So, the reason for celebrating on this day is apparent.
November 9th: Chaos Never Dies Day. The name of the day basically explains it all. It's a day to recognize the chaos in your life and do something positive about it.
November 13th: World Kindness Day. This day evolved from a series of conferences in 1996-1997 in Japan by a group known as the World Kindness Movement. These conferences brought together groups interested in promoting more kindness around the world. It culminated in the "Declaration of Kindness" on November 13,1997.
November 15th: Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. Use this day to clean out your refrigerator, top to bottom. The name of this day says it all.
November 19th: Have a Bad Day Day. Believe it or not, this day was created to encourage us to wish people to have a bad day. The intent is to have sales people stop saying to their customers "have a good day", and replace it with "have a bad day".
November 21st: World Hello Day.The theme of this day is "Greet ten people for peace". It is really easy to participate. Simply, say hello to the people and voice your concern for world peace. This day was created during the 1973 conflict between Egypt and Israel.
November 24th: Evolution Day. Sharing the day with Thanksgiving, this day is the anniversary of the publication of Charles Darwin's book: On the Origin of Species in 1859. His controversial theory turned the world upside down, in its thinking of how we came to be. And, it remains controversial to this day.
November 28th: French Toast Day. This day is your opportunity to enjoy French toast, a delicious and tasty meal at any time: breakfast, lunch or dinner.
November 29th: Square Dance Day. The origin of Square Dance Day is unknown. English, Irish, and Scottish settlers brought square dancing to the U.S. As it evolved in the U.S., a caller was added, to help dancers stay in step. It remains popular among southern and western rural areas, and with senior citizens.
Put these days in your calendar and enjoy them to the fullest!
