September is full of pleasant moments and important remembrances.
1. Labor Day
This national holiday recognizes the hard work everyday citizens put in to keep our country going strong. So use this day to take a much needed break, and don't forget to thank your fellow workers!
2. Patriot Day
September 11th is Patriot Day. This day of remembrance honors the lives lost during the 9/11 terrorist attacks as well as those who risked their lives to save others. We will never forget!
3. The Sapphire
This deep blue gem is is historically and royally significant, both for its rarity and its beautiful hue. It is said to ward off illness and is a strong symbol of hope and wisdom.
The aster is a vibrant wildflower historically sought after based on the belief that it could repel evil spirits. In the modern day, we recognize it as a symbol of love, patience, and reflection.
5. Cranberry Apple Cider Sangria
The start of fall signals the start of rich fruity drinks, like this Cranberry Apple Cider Sangria! This recipe is both sweet and simple, and you can find it here: https://www.flavourandsavour.com/cranberry-apple-cider-sangria/.
6. Finally Fall!
September 23 marks the first day of fall! Get ready for cozy sweaters, apple picking, hot chocolate, and colorful leaves on the trees!
7. Apple picking
September is the perfect time for apple picking! It's never too early to stock up for applesauce, apple cider, and apple pie. Plus, the weather is beginning to get just as crisp as the fruit.
8. School supplies
Maybe I'm alone in this, but the beginning of September means stocking up on school supplies. I love an excuse to buy tons of pencils, notebooks, crayons, and the like.
9. Fresh pens and notebook
Since the weather is getting colder and the sun is setting sooner, we often spend more time indoors in the fall, which is a great time for writing and reflection. So, why not invest in some nice pens and a smooth leather-bound journal to fully enjoy the season.
10. Board games
It can be sometimes dreary when fall weather rolls around. But if journaling is a bit too isolating, board games are a great way to hang out with your friends on a chilly evening.
September goes by so quick, so take a moment and enjoy this lovely month of the year.
PS: Shoutout to all the Virgos and Libras!
