"Sex and The City" is one of my all-time favorite shows. Though at times inappropriate {cough, Samantha, cough} it provided characters that lasted for years and lessons that are relevant still today. One character in particular lead the way for my optimistic, always classy beliefs—Charlotte York Goldenblatt. Through the years she grew from a naïve young woman to Jackie Kennedy. Here are some things she taught during 94 episodes and two movies of the iconic image "Sex and The City" was.

1. There are going to be some bumps along the way in your quest to find Mr. Right.

2. Being single is a full-time job.

Sometimes you just want to give up, You are tired of going through the same thing over and over again, but...

3. You should never give up on love.

Charlotte is what we call a "hopeless romantic". She believed with everything in her that she would find Prince Charming.

4. Looks fade away, but personalities are forever.

Your Prince Charming might not be a real prince (duh) or charming. After it's all said and done, we all just want someone who loves us unconditionally like Harry loved her.

5. Be classy, especially when no one is listening.

6. Always expect the unexpected.

You never know when you might run into the guy that broke your best friend's heart...and your water breaks while talking to him. Oops.

7. Don't eat the pudding from Pookipsy.

Watch the movie. You''ll understand.

8. Know your worth, and never be afraid to let others know, too.

9. Lowering your standards isn’t an option.

No one should expect anything but love and respect from a significant other. Charlotte made sure she demanded this from all of her relationships. She accepted nothing less than what she deserved.

10. It is ok to admit that your life isn’t perfect.

Life is hard, and you have to be able to say that aloud. Bottling up your emotions only worsens things. The first step to recovery from rock bottom is acceptance and admittance.

11. Things get messy often {and your skirts are not immune to this}.

12. Who run the world? Girlfriends.

Your boyfriend won't understand your devastation when a vintage skirt is ruined, but your friends will. They will also understand many things men won't

13. Despite everything, it really is possible to have everything you want.

Charlotte had to go through a terrible divorce before she found her soulmate; she had to face years of fertility treatments before adopting Lilly and becoming pregnant with Rose. Charlotte also went through trials with each of her friends, but none of this stopped her. Charlotte was the eternal optimist, and is forever held in my heart as the most gracious, timeless woman.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
