"Submarine" is a genius Indie Film that takes place in Wales. This is a hilarious story that follows the life of a fifteen-year-old boy as he tries to navigate growing up.
2. Whip It
"Whip It" is a quirky movie about a teenage girl in Texas trying to please her mom as well as find something out there in the world for her. This movie embodies female strength and is hilarious with the added fact of Ellen Page playing the main character. If you weren't into roller derby before you will be after seeing this movie.
3. 500 Days of Summer
"500 Days of Summer" is a cute romantic Indie movie that features several amazing actors, including Joseph Gordon- Levitt and Zooey Deschanel.
4. The Virgin Suicides
"The Virgin Suicides" is a late 90's movie about a group of boys trying to figure out the story of the five beautiful Lisbon sisters. The movie is very well done and will leave you thinking about life after it is over.
5. The Art of Getting By
This is a great movie to watch if you want to try and understand the reason for bothering with anything in life. Interesting story that has you rooting for the main character throughout the entire movie.
6. Moonrise Kingdom
"Moonrise Kingdom" is a beautifully filmed movie directed by Wes Anderson that centers around two twelve-year-olds who fall in love and run off together.
7. What's Eating Gilbert Grape
"What's Eating Gilbert Grape" is a great story, but I think all that needs to be said to convince you is a young Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp as brothers.
8. White Bird in a Blizzard
"White Bird in a Blizzard" is a hauntingly beautiful movie with an amazing story and several well-known actors and actresses added to make it a great Indie movie.
9. Adult World
"Adult World" is a hilarious and yet deep movie that is about an aspiring poet and how she tries to get close to her idol.
10. Ask Me Anything
"Ask Me Anything" is a hilarious movie with great actors and actresses, focuses on a rather dark topic that is made light by the main characters personality.
11. Comet
"Comet" is a very engaging, aesthetically pleasing movie that focuses on a relationship and all its different phases and trials.
12. Mr. Nobody
Watch as Jared Leto plays a character known as Mr. Nobody, who looks back on his life to see if doing something differently would change how his life turned out.
